Summary :

We are looking for a CAD operator / Assistant Project Manager. You will be trained on how to use your knowledge of Autodesk to create construction and specialty design documents.

You will also be trained on how to process and submit permit applications for various city agencies. You will assist project managers on various tasks through design and permitting filing processes.

Responsibilities :

  • The CAD operator / drafter utilizes computer-aided drafting software to support design staff and clients by producing clear and technically accurate drawings based on design specifications.
  • Works well independently using CAD software to create and modify drawings and sketches for use by clients.
  • Attend project meetings, communicate well with coworkers and clients on project topics / design.
  • Sets up and maintain digital organized files for projects. Update and maintain project tracking database throughout project from commencement to completion.
  • Provide support to project managers / architects / engineers.
  • Processing and submitting work permitting documents to various city filing agencies.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelors Degree in Architecture or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Proficient with design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Autodesk, etc.
  • 2+ years of CAD experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Customer Service :

  • Demonstrate flexibility in satisfying customer demands in a high-volume production environment.
  • Maintains the highest levels of customer care while demonstrating a friendly and cooperative attitude either verbally or written communication.

Work Environment :

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands :

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The employee is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and / or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and / or move up to 25 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Expected Hours of Work :

This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are generally Monday through Friday, 8 : 30 a.m. to 5 : 00 p.m.

Travel :

Travel to client site or municipal agency as expected for this position. Associate may be required to attend meetings at the discretion of management and / or if it is project related.
