Full-time

As a Production Manager you will be responsible for managing the vehicle distribution and turnaround processes at the airport branch.

Working in conjunction with the General manager to ensure vehicle safety, cleanliness and availability in a timely manner to meet customer demands and drive rental growth.

The production manager is also responsible for managing the work environment and vendor relationships as well as driving efficiencies and reduce costs.

General Duties and Responsibilities

  • Analyze KPIs and expenses to identify and implement processes and procedures to improve efficiency and reduce cost.
  • Develop and manage efficient turnaround processes.
  • Build & establish relationships with Branch Managers, staff, Service Providers, and vendors.
  • Establish and communicate daily vehicle needs to the vendors on vehicle turnaround / movements.
  • Create weekly forecast for subcontractor needs to support cleaning and vehicle movement processes.
  • Manage the process of cleaning and servicing vehicles at the QTA to ensure smooth operation of fleet movement from return to ready line.
  • Ensure quality control by performing vehicle inspection to review subcontractor performance.
  • Constant communication with the Branch management team to understand logistics needed and support the Fleet Planners in ensuring the subcontractors are working to meet our vehicle reservation demands.
  • Quickly investigate and work with Fleet Planners / Customer service agents to resolve operational / customer problems as they arise.
  • Perform daily game plan meetings with Subcontractor managers, Fleet department and Fleet planners / Customer service agents.
  • Coordinate movement of vehicles to and from overflow lots.
  • Manage driver activity to ensure that maintenance vehicles are moved to the best location to maximize lot space and traffic flow.
  • Act as the point of contact for the driver team on a daily basis. Act as a point of contact for Managers to get specific upgrade vehicles for customers.
  • Experience in car rental industry preferred.
  • Process oriented with proven record of success in managing large scale operational teams
  • Exceptional communication skills (multiple languages fluent preferred)

What You’ll Get to Do :

  • Coordinate forecast and build at risk meetings to drive the discussion and data collection needed to independently analyze, distill and communicate order and forecast information to accurately drive the majority of materials procurement within Product Solutions

Directly supervises Foremen and Crew Leads.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Review project plans, specifications, schedule and bid proposal with the project team
  • Monitor all daily activities of assigned projects. Provide direction and oversight to the Foremen as it pertains to their specific project duties
  • Manage labor costs, forecast labor requirements, and recruit labor as necessary to complete projects goals
  • Implement and comply with the company safety program with a positive attitude towards project safety for all personnel and the public.

  • Review job cost reports with the Project Manager to assure accuracy and address any deviations from project estimations
  • Able to recognize the strengths and weaknesses of employee’s and direct them in a positive way to become a productive member of the company
  • Travel to job sites around the country to review the work as well as the workers.

Requirements

What You'll Do

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

  • Minimum of 1-year previous managerial or supervisory experience in heavy manufacturing environments, preferably in the scrap metal or construction industries.
  • Minimum 3 years previous experience in an industrial / outdoor work environment and operating heavy equipment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, non-stop environment while providing excellent customer service.
  • Excellent administrative and computer skills with strong organization skills and a demonstrated ability to problem-solve.
  • Ability to interface effectively with customers and company personnel at all levels.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to work standing or walking for up to 12 hours per day.
