Key Duties and Responsibilities
The key duties and responsibilities of the Physician Assistant include, but are not limited to :
- Greeting / identifying patient & completing and documenting an accurate history and physical examination of patients; may include moving and positioning patients
- Conducting comprehensive or episodic health assessments and developing patient care plans
- Ordering and interpreting tests, treatments, and therapies within the scope of practice
- Prescribing medications, diet, supplies, prosthetic devices, and other home health aides or medication according to clinical privileges
- Instruct and counsel patients regarding the total treatment plan & therapeutic regimes.
- Providing clear, concise, and accurate information regarding patient care in the medical record
- Obtain / maintain technical familiarity and proficiency for specific surgical procedures prior to their performance. Remain proficient in the utilization of commonly used clinical protocols and guidelines
- Assist in Surgical Procedures.
- Hospital rounds, including patient care, charting & all paperwork / documentation, and interacting with the patient and family / care givers, staff, consultants, and discharge planners.
- Emergency Room : includes evaluating and treatment of patients
- The ability to initiate Basic / Advanced life support in response to emergency situations.
- Provides education to patients, families, and significant others using established education materials
- May provide other clinical duties within the scope of practice as directed under the emergency plan
- Advocates for patients, families, co-workers, the community and the health care profession
- Integrates evidence-based knowledge and clinical expertise in decision-making
- Seeks experiences and formal and independent learning activities to maintain and develop clinical and professional skills and knowledge
- Establishes an effective relationship with the collaborating physician
- Complete duties and assist others as directed
- Must follow all policies as introduced during new associate On-Boarding, updated real-time and outlined in Associate Handbook
Education and Experience
- Graduate of accredited Physician’s Assistant Program.
- Washington State Physician Assistant License, Current
- Current Certification as a physician assistant by the National Commission of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) is an asset
- Current CPR and BLS from the American Heart Association
- Two years prior experience in surgery preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Advanced physical assessment and critical thinking skills required. Ability to listen, interact and communicate verbally and in writing
- Required : Comprehensive knowledge of surgical procedures, techniques, Standards of Care, instrumentation, equipment, and supplies as they directly correlate to the specialty.

Summary
Kaiser Permanente-Washington Permanente Medical Group is seeking a part-time (0.7 FTE) Urgent Care Physician Assistant to join our Capitol Hill Campus team in Seattle, Washington.
Capitol Hill Campus is a multispecialty medical center. Lab, Radiology and Pharmacy on site. Office hours are 8am - 5pm Monday through Friday, with Urgent Care open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
As a condition of employment, all clinicians and employees are required to verify COVID-19 vaccination status. Compensation and Benefits
The entire salary range for this position is $133,159.00 to $156,658.00 and will be prorated based on FTE. Placement of new hires will be in the range of $133,159.
00 to $148,825.00 based on factors such as education, training or experience.
Employees (and their families) are covered by medical, dental, vision, basic life, and disability insurance. Employees are able to enroll in our company's 401k plan, receive employer contributions to the 401(k) plan, and enroll in our cash balance pension plan.
Employees will also receive four weeks of paid vacation leave every year and eight paid holidays throughout the calendar year, and will receive continuing medical education leave and funding.

General Surgery Physician Assistant
Summary
Kaiser Permanente-Washington Permanente Medical Group is seeking a full time FTE General Surgery Physician Assistant to join our Bellevue Medical Center team in Bellevue, Washington.
This is a multi-disciplinary general surgery practice involving the full breadth of elective and acute care general surgery.
There is a team spirit of collaboration with an emphasis on continuous learning, education, quality improvement, and standardization of care and best practices.
We have a full multi-disciplinary team, including 4 general surgeons, 1 colorectal rectal, 3 general surgery physician assistants, and robust support staff including nurses and medical assistants.
Core components of this position include :
- Evaluating and managing patients in the outpatient clinic at all points in the care continuum
- First assist on laparoscopic, robotic and open procedures
- Rounding & inpatient management at partner hospitals
- Consulting in urgent care and emergency department
- Shared call responsibilities taking night and weekend call together with the on call general surgeon, at approximately a 1 : 5 basis.
- No trauma component to this position.
It is anticipated that this position will involve weekday responsibilities largely carried out of the Bellevue medical center and partner hospital and night / weekend call taken at the Capitol Hill medical center and partner hospital in Seattle.
