Qualifications
- EDUCATION High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- CERTIFICATION(S) Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for the Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association is required.
Designation as a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA), Medical Assistant (MA), and / or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) is required.
LICENSURE Current Colorado state CNA license or Current Colorado state Emergency Medical Technician-Basic or A-EMT or EMT-Intermediate Proof of successful completion of health assessment and nursing foundation courses, in addition to basic medical / surgical clinical rotation in an accredited nursing program may be considered in lieu of designation as a CNA, MA and / or EMT.

- Performs various tasks as assigned, including checking vital signs, weighing patients, applying creams / ointments, applying / changing dressings and collecting specimens.
- Meets patient needs by utilizing resources and materials; transporting patients; answering patients' call lights and requests;
and reporting observations of the patient to healthcare team members.
- Serves as a conduit between patients and other healthcare providers by recording and communicating all issues to medical team members.
- Documents actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.
- Stores and prepares rooms and medical equipment for patient and healthcare team member use.
- Participates in departmental committees and projects as assigned.
