The facility is located in California.
The facility is open Mon-Sat 7-7. Clinician will work 5 days, 8 hr shifts and one Saturday per month (8-5) and 1 late night per week (12-9).
The EMR is ECW and the hospital uses Citrix or Cerner. Clinician will have several other pediatricians and apps working with them.
Credentialing and interview timeframe is 30 days. Certifications required include CA license, DEA and BLS, BC or BE in peds, and COVID vaccine.

JOB SUMMARY :
This position is accountable for a defined patient population under the supervision of a licensed physician. Functions dependently in a staff position, implementing the role of expert practitioner, consultant, educator, and researcher within a specialized area of patient care.
Performs within the scope of licensures and in accordance with hospital policies. Some positions will be responsible for being on call according to a predetermined schedule or as needed, pursuant to hospital needs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Current California Physician Assistant license
Completion of a Physician Assistant Program
Current BLS for Healthcare Providers, issued by AHA
Furnishing number, State of California (w / in 1 year of employment)
DEA license for positions that require the writing of scheduled medications (within one year of employment)
Medicare Billing number (NPI- National Provider Identifier) Must obtain within 6 months of employment
Certification : Physician Assistant, National Commission (w / in 1 year of employment)
Successfully complete the credentialing process through Medical Staff Services
Successfully completes the requirements of the delegations of Services for the assigned division
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
Bachelors or Master Degree of Science
Two years of experience in clinical nursing with emphasis in specialty area
Experience in specialty area as a Physician Assistant
Formal in-service education and / or lecturing skills
Bilingual Skills desired
The expected hiring range for this position is $64.36 to $96.55

POSITION DESCRIPTION :
Under the direction of the National Medical Director, physician supervisors and in collaboration with the Office of the Chief Medical Officer (OCMO) of U.
S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), contracted physician assistants deliver healthcare services to persons in custody in accordance with the polices and protocols listed in the Statement of Work (SOW) and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) directives for the delivery of healthcare services to persons in custody.
Physician assistants share the administrative functions that directly impact medical services and collaborates with the management team in overall planning and execution of program directives.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Performs under the administrative direction of a Physician, the Physician Supervisor, Pediatric Advisor or in their absence the Deputy National Medical Director.
- Work in alongside uniformed Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Agents / Officers in secured federal facilities along the southwest border of the United States
- Maintains non-involvement in the security aspect of patient care and custody.
- Provides first aid, emergency medical services, health examinations, or nursing services to employees.
- Interacts with injury management, workers compensation, and outside compensation providers.
- Gives information to employees in health education and illness prevention.
- Prepares, maintains, records, accident reports, and statistical data associated with incidents, health history, and injuries occurring at worksite.
- Maintains inventory of EMS equipment and first aid supplies.
- Assists in performing drug and alcohol testing at worksite, overseeing other health issues such as drinking water, food preparations, and safety of living areas.
- Under broad direction, performs duties by following established procedures.
- Exercises judgment within generally defined procedures and current regulations in selecting methods and techniques for treatment.
- Has a knowledge of techniques used in this QHSE specialization.
- Applies knowledge to work scope and is accountable for less experienced workers in the medical field.
- Completes all annual training as directed.
- Duties will be performed on-site at medical units, which may rotate within a specific region or sector.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS :
- Must have a minimum of one year of experience as a licensed Physician’s Assistant in direct patient care.
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program located in a State, the District of Columbia, or a U.S. territory.
Must be accredited by the Accreditation Review
Commission on Education for Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) or one of its predecessors. The degree issuing institution and / or program must be accredited by an entity recognized by the U.
S. Department of Education.
- Experience in detention / correctional healthcare, ambulatory care, or a pediatric setting encouraged, but not required.
- Alertness and skill in providing care and reacting to emergency situations.
- Interpersonal skills to develop a rapport with patients and co-workers during which instructional and educational information is presented or shared.
- Basic safety, infection control, quality assurance, records management, statistical information gathering, etc.
- Skill in collecting a variety of laboratory samples.
- Experience in detention / correctional or pediatric setting encouraged, but not required.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish encouraged, but not required.
- Able to walk, stand, bend, or sit for extended periods.
- Able to reach to retrieve documents or supplies.
- Able to carry materials and / or file boxes up to 30 pounds on an infrequent basis or assist patients into / out of a wheelchair.
- Must be capable of standing on hard surfaces (cement floors) for long periods of time.
- Must perform these duties in a stressful and often austere environment without physical limitation.
- Must be able to respond to a medical emergency and perform BLS / CPR as needed.
LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION :
Candidates must have an unrestricted, current license as a Physician Assistant valid in the location in which the duty will be performed / located.
Licensure must be maintained current, and any education and training must be completed within the required timeline for completion by the licensing / certifying authority.
Any license changes must immediately be reported to the employer. A temporary license will not be accepted.
Board Certification as a Physician Assistant by the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) or National Commission on Certification of Physicians Assistants (NCCPA) is preferred.
Certification must be maintained if required as part of licensure for the state licensing authority.
Candidate should not have had any professional licensure / certification withheld, suspended, revoked, or denied, and the candidate must not have surrendered or allowed a licensure / certification to have expired or lapsed because of an investigation or disciplinary action.
Any National Practitioner Database finding will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
- Candidate must not have been convicted of, pled guilty to, pled nolo contender to, or received probation before judgement for any crime other than a minor traffic violation, the record of which has not been expunged.
- Current unexpired Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification must be maintained from one of the following approved organizations : a.
American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for health care providers

- d. American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI) CPR and AED for healthcare providers and professional responders i. Course components must include Adult, Pediatric, and Infant CPR, Foreign Body Airway Obstruction, and Automatic Defibrillator (AED) proficiency
- ii. Applicant / Employee must be certified upon hire and may also be a certified instructor

Urology Physician Assistant
The Scripps Clinic Medical Group, Division of Urology has an immediate opening for a full-time Physician Assistant.
Minimum requirements include a valid California license, DEA license and satisfactory completion in an accredited training program and PA certification.
Preference will be given to individuals with a minimum of 1-2 years of post-graduate experience, preferably in Urology, ICU, or surgical subspecialties.
Roles and responsibilities include first assisting in surgery, inpatient and outpatient patient care. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
