JOB SUMMARY :

Under the direct supervision of the RN Supervisor, this position is responsible for all real time charting for the physicians.

The Scribe works to facilitate patient flow through ambulatory clinics and ensure an accurate and complete medical record for each patient.

The Scribe assists the medical provider by accompanying them during the medical history-taking and exam, recording patient's histories and chief complaints, transcribing physical exams and recording plans for follow up care.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

HS Diploma, GED, or Equivalent

Working knowledge of medical terminology and accepted abbreviations

Ability to think analytically

Medical billing experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :

Associate’s Degree

1 year of experience (experience may be substituted with appropriate educational background)

CIMCAT and / or completion of ScribeAmerica Advanced Scribe Training Program

Previous Medical Office / Records Experience

Medical Terminology

Ability to type 60 plus words per minute

Computer proficiency and ability to quickly learn new systems and applications

Professional demeanor and recognition of privacy considerations for patients and families

The expected hiring range for this position is $20.00 to $30.00

This position will work in conjunction with the doctor and team to facilitate, support and maintain optimum patient care.

Essential Functions of the Optometric Technician
