RESPONSIBILITIES :
Performs routine audits of in-house charts upon admission and at least quarterly, to ensure completeness and accuracy.
Completes focus audits and PI audits on specific topics as directed by Administrator or Regional Medical Records Director.
- Provides notification to the staff on deficiencies found in the record and does follow-up to ensure the in-house records are complete.
- Assembles the medical records of discharged residents.
- Analyzes discharged charts for completeness and follows up with staff and physicians to ensure discharged records are completed.
- Processes requests for medical information as directed by the Administrator, Regional Medical Records Director and / or corporate Risk Manager (i.
e., requests from residents, attorneys, for insurance reimbursement, in response to a subpoena).
- Maintains Release of Information Log for all requests for medical records and copies released for payment, continuity of care, and health care operations.
- Completes Accounting of Disclosures form according to HIPAA policies and files in resident’s chart.
- Maintains the confidentiality of medical records by ensuring confidentiality of health information.
- Monitors physician visits and reports non-compliance to the DON / Administrator at least monthly.
- Purges charts, maintains destruction log, and maintains information for records at off-site storage facility.
- Assigns ICD-9 CM codes for resident diagnoses. Inputs diagnoses and codes in HCS system.
- Coordinates physician dictation with outside transcription company.
- Files any loose sheets needing to be attached to the record.
- Maintains supply of forms in department and on nursing units.
- Completes discharge / transfer notice when necessary for transfers to hospital or expired residents. Inputs discharge / transfer data in HCS system and ECS.
- Forwards requested records to Carespring Case Manager for managed care updates.
- Serves as facility contact person to oversee Record Retention and Destruction Policy working with each department as documents / records are boxed for long term storage.
Sign-off on each Record Log to confirm proper completion.
Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Maintains or is willing to obtain Medical Records Certification
- Detail oriented person and can complete tasks on a need based schedule
- PointClickCare experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel highly encouraged.

Type of Employment : Full-time, 40 hours a week.
Contract Terms : One (1) year base contract with three (3) options years.

Estimated Pay : $36.41 / hour comprised of $32.00 / hour base plus $4.41 / hour for benefits (Health / Welfare) *This is just an estimate and not the final pay rate.
Work Schedule
The Medical Simulation Operator will normally work Monday through Friday, 0730 - 1630 Eastern Standard Time; however, there may be times when it is necessary for the Program Manager Assistant may have to work after duty hours in support of specific tasks.
Although schedule may have to be flexible, it will not exceed 40 hours per week.
Temporary alternate work locations, including remote telework, may be assigned as circumstances dictated by the Contracting Officer Representative (COR).
Telework schedule is anticipated to be fluid to support opportunity.
Summary of Duties
The Medical Simulation Operator will provide technical expertise and support on operating a high-fidelity patient simulator system, assist in developing metrics to validate a simulation-based team- training program.
The Medical Simulation Operator will assist with the use of advanced learning technologies and methodologies to improve medical education and training for healthcare teams for the purpose of improving patient outcomes.
Provide technical and analytic support for the Team Training Program at U.S. Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine (USAFSAM).
he Medical Simulation Operator will be working with the USAFSAM / ETC personnel to provide digital video recording support, maintenance of existing equipment, analysis of team training measures, design of simulation scenarios, technical expertise in running simulators within a constrained / controlled simulation environment.
The Medical Simulation Operator will also provide support for digital video recording and simulators for Center for Sustainment of Trauma Readiness Skills (C-STARS) training platforms.
Mandatory Qualifications
- Current and maintain a National Registered Paramedic (NRP) certification.
- Paramedic equivalent medical knowledge (with RN level preferred) as the Simulation operator in order to be able to manipulate physiological data and interpret participants response to simulated scenarios.
- Basic Life Support-Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP) certification
- Five years of clinical experience in military or civilian setting
- Have at least (2) years experience with programming human patient simulators using primarily Laerdal, Gaumard & CAE simulator operating systems.
- Excellent interpersonal skills are required.
- Excellent writing and verbal communication skills are required.
- Proficiency with word processing software and SharePoint applications is required.
- Prior experience in course development and education methodology.
- Knowledge of military trauma clinical skills, procedures, processes to include : AFMS Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPGs),
- Knowledge and understanding of applicable Air Force and professional standards.
- Knowledge of military and civilian guidelines, policy & procedure through successful completion of USAFSAMs and Departments orientation programs is required.

Highly Desired Qualifications
- One year of military medical / military deployment experience.
- Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS), Audio / visual solutions, moulage creation & application, hyper-realistic simulators, and task-trainers
- Possess a bachelors degree in a scientific or business field and at least one year of research-related project management experience.
- Three years of relevant research-related project management experience may be used instead of a degree.
- At least one year of demonstrating fundamental federal fiscal restrictions / regulations management.
- Shall be proficient in all applications of Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access.
- Shall have excellent organizational, management, and communication skills.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Use a state-of-the-art, Learning Management System. Primary Tasks will include operating the LMS & A / V solution that will be used to view and evaluate learner performance during training and simulation events.
- Provide analysis of team performance during pre and post simulated conditions to establish correlation between pre- and post-performance.
- Utilize, complete, collect and track simulation evaluation tools.
- Assist with development, data collection, data analysis, and administration of all pre- and post- simulation scenarios.
- Prepare training environments, operate simulation equipment / assets, and recover equipment and environment for scheduled training and upon request by USAFSAM Staff.
- Conduct orientation to the simulation equipment, environment and provide overview of the human patient simulator.
- Assist in management and support of daily operations of the simulation training program.
- Assist in the development of simulation program validation metrics.
- Work cooperatively with the applicable program analysis, course curriculum advisors, course program director, IM / IT, medical logistics, and site simulation center leadership to identify operational needs.
Based on these identified needs, the contractor shall develop recommendations to address simulation / course shortfalls.
- Provide assistance to the program course director during the patient simulation scenario review process.
- Develop and provide training, safety and maintenance materials appropriate to the operation of all simulation equipment as directed by the Simulation Program Coordinator or as warranted by operational necessity.
- Shall attend all strategic planning meetings and teleconferences, as well as meetings and conferences for the purpose of improving the patient simulated course experience and delivery of course content.
- Shall assist and provide guidance to simulation center set-up and shall provide consultative assistance to program course management regarding future site expansion, as well as high-fidelity HPS recommendations.
- Ensure that simulation education, program key elements, and learning objectives are considered, and shall ensure simulation training outcome measurements meet course and skill sustainment requirements.
- Be responsible for reporting needs regarding simulation supplies & equipment in support of course training scenarios targeted to meet identified learning objectives.
- Effectively operate simulation equipment, task trainers, computerized Hi-fidelity simulators, and virtual reality procedural trainers individually or in combination with the ability to follow legitimate medical aspects of scenarios, and shall make appropriate adjustments based on participant actions or inactions as needed.
- Create troubleshooting documents, simulation checklists, and simulation lesson plans / scenarios for simulation equipment.
These products will be forwarded to the program course director for review.
- Shall support USAFSAM simulation research projects within the capacity of contractor PWS.
- Leave request / projections will be provided to C-STARS Cincinnati Deputy Site Director at least 10 workdays in advance via email to meet local policy.
Absence during scheduled course dates will be avoided.
Assist with train-the-trainer activities and basic equipment troubleshooting items for the purpose of training additional cadre members.
