The work schedule for this position will be Tuesday to Saturday 1 : 00 am to 9 : 30 am . 17% shift differential offered for 3rd shift.

Job Duties / Responsibilities :

  • Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
  • Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures
  • Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
  • Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
  • Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls
  • Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care
  • Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures
  • Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary
  • Assist with processing of micro specimens when needed
  • Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment

Requirements :

  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology or meet local regulatory (CLIA & State) requirements
  • Florida State Medical Technologist (MT) OR ASCP, AMT or ABB certification (must also be able to pass a standardized color vision screening).
  • The ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • A high level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills

POSITION PROFILE

Ensures customers’ satisfaction by making pick-ups and deliveries in a proficient and timely manner. This position reports directly to the Site Manager, Site Supervisor or Assistant Site Manager, depending on site personnel configuration.

Job Summary and Qualifications

You Will :

  • Perform accurate and timely laboratory testing by analyzing proficiency testing samples according to instructions and complete within the allowable time frame
  • Assume responsibility of the department as appropriate in the absence of the supervisor
  • Complete all required records / documentation pertaining to patient results
  • Perform stat procedures within established turnaround time targets
  • Demonstrate the ability to use good judgment and independent thinking in the correlation and interpretation of patient results.
