We are seeking a for research participants enrolled in a longitudinal study of HIV infection in homosexual and bi-sexual men.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
- With training provided by the study team, will also perform frailty measures (hand grip and walk), and other assessments as assigned by Clinic Coordinator.
- Will also complete study forms.
- Must be meticulous in documentation and in following established protocols for research examinations.
- Prior HIV research experience a plus
- Other duties as assigned.
Special Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Must have excellent communication and organizational skills and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with a PC.
- Must be comfortable working with bisexual and homosexual men.
- Must have the ability to accurately obtain and record detailed information.
- Must have a friendly personality and positive attitude as well as the ability to interact with diverse populations.
- Must be sensitive to the confidentiality of the study participants.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED required
- Certification / Registration as a Medical Assistant (e.g. CMA, AAMA, RMA, AMT, NAHP) required. If not currently certified / registered, must become certified / registered within 180 days (6 months) of date of hire.
Exam fees will be paid by the department. If a retest is required, associated fees are paid by the employee
- Current CPR certification by the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross required
- Must maintain MA and CPR certification / registration during duration of employment in this position
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior research experience.
- Experience using EPIC.

Job Summary :
Under direction of the Practice Manager, the Medical Assistant (MA) provides day-to-day administrative, direct patient care and clinical support to the Ambulatory Services department through administrative and medical / nursing support.
The MA must have the ability to take adult and pediatric basic vital signs including height and weight, blood pressure, visual acuity, color vision, and draw blood accurately.
They must be able to document information in the electronic health record. The individual performing this job routinely interacts with administrative, medical staff, other GMC departmental staff and patients.
Employment Qualifications :
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be a graduate of an accredited medical assistant program.
- Must be a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA certified) or achieve certification within 6 months of hire.
- Must have BLS / CPR for healthcare providers.
