General Summary of Position
Provides courier services between MedStar Health facilities and external courier services.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards, and safety standards.
Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations.
Assists with the coordination of daily post office activities such as, applying postage to outgoing PSS mail and making a later afternoon delivery to the post office.
Picks up certified, registered, priority and express mail supplies from the post office.
Attends training sessions and workshops offered, to include but not limited to, CRCS-I training, bulletin review, etc.
Attends and successfully completes required Continuing Education Units (CEU) for the PFS Training Program. Completes annual mandatory training (SITEL) within defined time frame.
- Maintains courier vehicle in clean condition; monitors preventive maintenance and requests repairs as necessary.
- May perform duties of courier, escort, and messenger functions.
- Operates vehicles safely and in conformance with company rules and regulations and traffic safety regulations; must wear seatbelt at all times.
- Participates in meetings and on committees.
- Picks up and delivers printed material between hospital print shops and Baltimore sites. Delivers Xerox paper to PSS departments.
- Picks up and delivers various items and materials to and from hospitals and various satellite locations, and other Baltimore metropolitan area delivery points.
- Prepares and maintains accurate daily transportation schedules. Submits vehicle fuel consumption, expense receipts, and other data as required for logging purposes.
Coordinates paperwork or request for repairs and maintenance of loaned vehicle.
- Schedules, coordinates and processes daily courier services, ensuring that services are performed on schedule.
- Ensures specimen labeling process is followed and in compliance with MedStar policy and procedure as required.
- Ensures specimens are transported under proper conditions within the limits of stability as required.

Immediately reports fire hazards or safety violations to supervisor.

- Verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer skills preferred.
- Ability to operate a 4 wheel drive vehicle.

Job Summary :
Under direction of the Practice Manager, the Medical Assistant (MA) provides day-to-day administrative, direct patient care and clinical support to the Ambulatory Services department through administrative and medical / nursing support.
The MA must have the ability to take adult and pediatric basic vital signs including height and weight, blood pressure, visual acuity, color vision, and draw blood accurately.
They must be able to document information in the electronic health record. The individual performing this job routinely interacts with administrative, medical staff, other GMC departmental staff and patients.
Employment Qualifications :
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be a graduate of an accredited medical assistant program.
- Must be a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA certified) or achieve certification within 6 months of hire.
- Must have BLS / CPR for healthcare providers.
