Completion of a medical assistant program from a vocational, technical or career school
Certified Medical Assistant required
Minimum of three (3) years experience in a health care setting, preferably correctional health care
Maintains BCLS
Required to exert up to 50 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects including the human body.
Required to kneel, stoop, crouch and / or crawl occasionally.
Frequent walking throughout site; to include walking up and down flights of stairs.
Must have and maintain sufficient strength, agility, and endurance to perform during stressful (physical, mental and emotional) situations encountered on the job.
Occasional running when responding to emergencies; must be able to perform BLS.
A background check, security clearance and drug screening are required for this role.

Collects data for Quality Improvement programs, as assigned

Fast-paced Medical Office seeking a full time Medical Assistant for immediate hire. We are seeking an individual who takes initiative, is a quick learner, reliable, motivated and a team player.
This position will be a floating position multiple days a week for certain half day clinics. Reliable transportation is required.

- Monday - Friday, 8 : 30am - 4 : 30pm
- No required weekends

Duties include but not limited to :
- Triaging patients, taking vital signs and documentation in EMR system including reconciling medications
- Administering injections and performing spirometry / pulmonary function tests
- Obtaining medical records as required for patient appointments
- Other administrative duties include but not limited to : checking in / out appointments, answering phone calls, checking voicemails / encounters, and making appointments as needed
Skills / Qualifications :
- Computer literate with eClinicalworks experience is preferred
- 1 year of medical assistant experience is required
- Must be able to effectively communicate with patients and be responsive to all inquiries with a positive attitude
- Detail-oriented and able to follow oral and written instructions with ease
- Ability to work effectively and independently with staff, physicians and patients
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Bilingual preferred but not required

- Perform and document scheduled quality control, instrument maintenance and calibration procedures according to manufacturer information
- Serve as a patient / family advocate while caring for patients and collaborating with other health care team members
Skills & Requirements :
- High school diploma or GED required
- BLS certification required
- CMA-AAM, RMA, or EMT certifications preferred
- 1 year of related experience preferred
