Job Summary
Provides general medical care under the direction of a licensed provider to patients in an outpatient clinic setting.
Responsibilities
- Obtain patient vitals, medical history, and reason for visit, and prepare the patient for a physical exam
- Explain prescribed procedures and treatments to patients
- Ensure all ordered tests are performed accurately and in a timely manner
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with the approved procedure
- Draw blood and preparation labs for reference lab processing and / or in-house processing
- Perform laboratory tests, lab-quality controls, and equipment maintenance according to written instructions
- Respond to all lab messages and call back requests
- Perform all drug screening procedures in accordance with established rules and regulations
- Ensure patient immunizations are well documented and administered in accordance with the approved procedure
- Conduct physician referrals as well as service pre-certifications on an as-needed basis
- Prepare exam rooms; sterilize instruments, equipment, and supplies for procedures
- Maintain complete and accurate documentation
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and / or training;
or equivalent combination of education and experience. AMT registered and AAMA Certified Medical Assistants are preferred.

Medical Assistant - Neurology
Responsibilities
The Medical Assistant assists physicians as they assess, examine and treat patients. Responsibilities include patient flow management and various diagnostic procedures such as EKGs, phlebotomy, injections and vitals.
Acts as liaison to physicians to ensure patient satisfaction. Maintains and orders supplies for their area as needed.
- Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
- Escorts patients to exam rooms and ensures proper identification.
- Performs and documents vital signs, clinical care quality measures and medical history information.
- Remains proficient and knowledgeable regarding the use and documentation requirements within information technology systems within established scope of practice.
- Assists physicians with examinations, various diagnostic procedures, and may perform EKG and venipuncture / injections in the office, using appropriate skills to provide quality care to the patients.
- Adheres to HIPAA privacy and security requirements.
- Orders clinical supplies to maintain inventory and to facilitate smooth operations of the office.
Qualifications
Education :
- HS Diploma or equivalent required.
- Medical Assistant certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
- BLS certification must be obtained within 3 months of hire.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Familiarity with medical office procedures
Preferred Experience :
Experience in physician office or other healthcare setting preferred.
Conditions of Employment

Cardiology Consultants of Philadelphia is a professional medical organization committed to the healing mission of Medicine.
CCP specializes in providing comprehensive cardiology care and currently has over 40 locations throughout the Philadelphia area.
We are currently hiring for a full-time Medical Assistant to work at our Chestnut , PA office.
Please note this role is entitled to a $500 sign-on bonus.
Please note the hours for this role are 7 : 30 - 4 : 00.
Responsibilities
- Work with an assigned physician on a daily basis
- Escort patients to the exam room
- Record medical information, review medications, and obtain vital signs
- Perform stress testing and EKG's
- Follow up on lab results
- Answer phones and assist with check in / out procedures if necessary
- Assist with appointment scheduling.
- Review and prepare the next day's assignments
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Must be a certified or registered Medical Assistant
- Must have at least 2-3 years of experience as a Medical Assistant
- Familiarity with various cardiology related procedures such as : stress tests, managing Coumadin therapy, and Holter monitors are a plus
- Must have the ability to multitask
- Computer knowledge is a must
- Experience with an EMR system is a plus
- Must be well spoken, friendly, and outgoing
