We are searching for Medical Assistants to work interdependently with all healthcare professionals to provide optimal ambulatory quality healthcare to the patient at their COVID testing sites.
Daily responsibilities :
- Check schedule, continually assessing and organizing patient flow.
- Check patient medical records for pertinent data; review and maintain current patient information / demographic data.
- Follow up with patients regarding abnormal results and follow-up.
- Properly performs complete vital signs- height, weight, temperature, pulse, heart rate, blood pressure, head circumference (infants), patient history, allergies, vaccine status, and reason for visit.
- Administers vaccines and or medication per providers orders.
- Performs Phlebotomy / venipuncture tests, collect, and label specimens.
- Sets up equipment, instruments and forms according to department protocol.
- Maintain infection control standards via cleaning and sterilizing according to scheduled maintenance program.
Qualifications :
- 2+ years of Medical Assistant experience
- Completed training from an accredited Medical Assistant Program required
- CPR Certification will be required and maintained
- Prior phlebotomy training and / or experience preferred
- Bilingual Spanish a plus, but not required
- Must be flexible to work evenings and Saturdays

Medical Support Assistant
To qualify for this position, VA applicants must meet all requirements within 15 days of the closing date of this announcement, 09 / 29 / 2023.

g.). ENGLISH : Must be proficient in basic written and spoken English. - At this grade level, experience consists of : interacting with internal and external customers; establishing and maintaining medical outpatient and inpatient charts as well as administrative records;
- verifying third party insurance and updating insurance information in automated systems; obtaining medical information from patients;
coordinating information and actions related to patient care and services; and scheduling appointments. OR Education : Successful completion of four years of education above high school level.
This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
One year of full-time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university (TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED).
This is the full performance level for MSAs. At this level, the MSA is expected to independently perform a full range of duties related to the delivery of healthcare services in an inpatient or outpatient setting.
AND Demonstrated Knowledge, Skills and Abilities : Ability to operate computerized programs and systems in order to enter, modify, and retrieve sensitive medical and patient identifying information into or from electron health records, scheduling systems, and / or reports.
Advanced knowledge of medical terminology specific to understand medical diagnosis and procedures sufficient to communicate clinical staff instructions to patients.
Ability to schedule medical appointments in a clinical setting. Ability to work independently in the accomplishment of a wide variety of duties performing patient support work.
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally in person, electronically, and / or by telephone, with internal and external customers.
6. Skill in customer service with the ability to identify customer concerns, and refer to the appropriate staff, as necessary, to ensure a satisfactory resolution.

Physical Requirements : The work is primarily sedentary. Physical demands do not exceed those of a typical office setting.
There may be some walking, standing twisting, turning, sitting, pushing, bending, repetitive keyboarding, or carrying of light items.

Essential Functions :
- Interviews patients, measures vital signs, such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height, and records information on patients' charts
- Prepares treatment rooms and patients for examination
- Cleans and sterilizes instruments
- Inventories and orders medical supplies and materials
- Operates electrocardiograph (EKG) and other equipment to administer routine diagnostic tests
