YII is looking for a Sr. Mechanical Engineer to join our team based out of Plano, TX . The Sr. Mechanical Engineer is responsible to lead the mechanical design efforts of Yazaki Innovations’ projects in the automotive, energy, robotics, and other areas.
The senior ME will work with Yazaki Innovations’ clients to scope and define the project and ensure that the product being designed meets the end user’s needs.
They will distill the mechanical requirements from the overall system requirements in addition to designing and integrating components and modules.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with minimal supervision to meet defined program objectives and milestones in an environment where they will be given the freedom to innovate, explore new methods and solutions.
This position is fully remote with some travel to the office and customer site.
What you will be doing :
- Define the mechanical system architecture, working cross functionally with the rest of the internal and external engineering teams to ensure that the parts being designed for the project will work seamlessly with other parts of the design (electrical, thermal, software, etc).
- Once a design has been completed, prototypes will need to be fabricated and tested. The senior ME will lead this process, and will also work with the rest of the engineering team to test and validate designs
- Once a design has been tested and validated, the Senior ME will work with internal or external manufacturing teams to include DFM / DFA improvements into the design, and will also work directly with the factories to ensure a seamless production process.
- There will be mostly NPD responsibilities in this job, but there will be some NPI responsibilities as well.
What you will bring to the table :
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 10 years of relevant experience
- Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time
- Comfortable working cross functionally with other types of engineers (software, electrical, etc.)
- Comfortable mentoring a more junior engineer
- Experience with CAD tools and 3D modeling
- Design for Manufacturing and fabrication experience
- Experience working with outside partners as a part of the electrical design process
- Experience working with manufacturing partners and transferring designs to manufacturing
- Experience with thermal management and heat dissipation
- Experience working on electromechanical systems and systems with software control, such as robotics
- Experience in wiring and harnessing
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects; requires good time management and organizational skills to meet stringent deadlines
- Understanding of Functional Safety & Cybersecurity and their impacts on electrical design & architecture
- Understanding of automotive and other industry standards
- Knowledge of vehicle high voltage (HV) systems including safety and awareness
- Analytical and flexible approaches in projects
- Excellent creativity, initiative, diligence, and accuracy
- High attention to detail and hands on approach
- Must be able to travel domestically and internationally on an occasional basis

Responsibilities
SSOE is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team for pharmaceutical projects. Responsibilities include :
- Provide engineering and 3D Revit support for multiple projects that include HVAC, piping, plumbing and fire protection.
- Perform HVAC load calculations, ductwork static pressure calculations, and pump head calculations.
- Performs detailed phases of engineering work on major projects or total engineering work on projects of smaller or moderate scope.
- Plans and conducts work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard accepted methods.
- May devise new approaches and solutions to problems encountered and communicates changes to the team.
- May supervise and coordinate the work of less experienced engineers and designers and be responsible for checking a portion or all of the drawings completed on the project within the discipline.
- May take part in client contact and business development activities.
- Meets with client to define project scope, present project progress, and assure client satisfaction.
- May write portions or all of the specifications and assist in or prepare total cost estimates.
- Performs design work on CADD.
- Develops engineering concepts and presentations.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited college program, which qualifies for licensure in the state of practice, is required.
- PE or PE-tracked preferred, plus two (2) or more years of experience with SSOE as an Engineer 3 or the same educational, certification, and registration requirements as above with five (5) or more years of related practical experience with former employer(s) required.
- Experience with, and the ability to size HVAC equipment, duct and ancillary equipment, hydronic, and utility piping systems and plumbing systems.
- Knowledge and experience using AutoCAD, REVIT and MicroStation preferred, as well as Microsoft Software (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Experience working on Pharmaceutical projects is preferred. Automotive, Manufacturing, and Commercial projects is a plus.

The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for providing Engineering and development support of Wiper blades product market to fuel the growth and innovation of ITW Global Brand’s automotive aftermarket business.
This role provides dynamic technical support, leadership and innovation from product inception through post-launch. Mechanical Engineer is responsible to lead the engineering, creates and evaluates technological developments, investigates feasibility of new engineering techniques, components, processes, and materials.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Conceive, plan, develop, and coordinate project components as an individual contributor or as a member of a cross-functional team.
- Support and / or complete medium to higher level complexity engineering tasks / projects as assigned to meet business objectives.
- Create and develop engineering project documentation, i.e. bill of materials, drawings and specifications
- Develop prototypes and test plans; validate as required.
- Participate in or conduct design reviews and provide feedback, using the appropriate tools i.e.
- FMEA, field and lab testing
- Research and provide the required product information to support sales, service, and marketing to satisfy customer needs.
- Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve engineering project issues related to design.
- Execute projects on time and within cost targets.
- Support and implement product release plans to transition new designs to manufacturing and service teams.
