Marketing Manager

Johns Hopkins Carey Business School is seeking an experienced marketing professional for the role of. Reporting to the Director of Integrated and Digital Marketing, the Marketing Manager will be responsible for program marketing and promotion efforts at Johns Hopkins Carey Business School for both select degree and non-degree programs.

In close coordination with other marketing and communications staff, they will develop an integrated marketing plan. They will work with Careys media agency of record, and any additional 3rd party vendors contracted to the school, to ensure Carey is implementing best in class acquisition and retention strategies while also responsible for implementing marketing initiatives.

They will be a champion for Carey degree and non-degree programs as assigned. They will ensure all relevant partners including Admissions, Programs, Faculty Program Directors, Executive Education, International Collaborations, and Marketing and Communications (MarComm) teams are fully aware of all marketing plans related to all assigned programs.

This position will have one direct report. This is a hybrid position.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead all acquisition and retention marketing efforts across all advertising mediums, as related to assigned degree and non-degree programs
  • Lead the development and execution of marketing strategies and plans for specific degree and non-degree programs including partnering with marketing leadership on the media planning and buying efforts with an external agency
  • Effectively manage and develop one enrollment marketing specialist to oversee email marketing strategies and implementation for non-credit programs and other degree program management as assigned.
  • Lead engagement / relationship management strategies, leveraging direct marketing tools (e.g., email and other CRM tools) to drive results
  • Utilize and optimize SEO / SEM, email campaigns, user experience, digital advertising, and promotions to build brand / program awareness, generate leads and engagement with participants
  • Work in partnership with social media manager to deliver strong social media marketing support across programs
  • Measure and analyze campaign data using KPIs and make adjustments to continue to drive ROI and apply learning in new marketing planning
  • Drive implementation of best practices through all channels
  • Ensure brand consistency across all marketing activities within assigned programs (e.g., website, emails, social media, events, flyers, etc.)
  • Fully understand competitive landscape, monitor, report and provide marketing insights working in concert with sr. market research manager
  • Fully understand target market and work with the external agency to create personas
  • Work closely with the MarComm creative team and external agency to determine strongest messaging and creative to best reach the target market
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to clearly articulate (written and verbal) strategies and plans to achieve goals
  • Experience in optimizing marketing funnel from brand / program awareness to conversion to retention

  • Superb understanding of how all digital marketing channels function including hands-on experience with SEO / SEM and emails
  • Experience in working with automated customer relationship management (CRM) systems
  • Experience with automated marketing platforms (e.g., Marketo, HubSpot, Pardot)
  • Demonstrated capacity for leadership, with strong management skills and the ability to supervise staff effectively
  • Self-starter and can lead independently and proactively

Minimum Qualifications
