POSITION OVERVIEW

dormakaba is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Indianapolis, IN. This position is responsible for planning the arrangement of equipment to ensure the most efficient and productive processes and layout utilizing lean manufacturing practices to drive change.

HIRING SALARY RANGE : $90,000 - $140,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.

PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Identifies appropriate plating and finishing technologies creating a roadmap and capital plan for the Indianapolis facility
  • Plans the arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout. Directs the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance
  • Documents and maintains process procedures, work instructions and tool drawings
  • Reviews performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies
  • Conducts root cause analysis for rejected or faulty parts. Researches work processes and conduct failure analysis to determine cause of error or problem parts
  • Analyzes SPC (statistical process control) data for identified work processes to ensure level of performance
  • Assists with instructing, training, and answering area-specific questions for less experienced manufacturing engineers or other departmental personnel
  • Conducts make vs. buy analysis on new or existing parts / processes
  • Establishes acceptance criteria for new tools, equipment, and / or processes
  • Serves as a technical resource and Manufacturing liaison to Supply Management and New Product Development for new and existing parts, products, and processes
  • Performs duties and responsibilities as described in the quality system
  • Documents and specifies routine and work instructions for the use of equipment and processes that affect product performance
  • Ensures corrective actions are communicated to the production personnel through work instructions or procedure updates and training

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, industrial engineering / technology, from an accredited institution preferred
  • 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing or process environment preferred
  • Certified Manufacturing Engineer (CME) preferred
  • AESF (American Electroplating / Surface Finishing) or CEF (Certified Electroplater Finisher) certified preferred
  • Be able to lift up to 20 pounds
  • Must have good vision, with or without correction

Manufacturing Technician Details :

Organization Overview :

The Manufacturing Scientist provides the technical support required to achieve the reliable and compliant manufacture of the Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient External Manufacturing (API EM) portfolio which includes raw materials, intermediates, enzymes and bulk drug substances.

Responsibilities :

  • Develop and monitor established metrics in real-time to assess process variability and capability.
  • Understand, justify and document the state of validation (process and cleaning) with data that evaluate the capability of the manufacturing process to meet its stated purpose.
  • Ensure that an accurate instruction set (tickets & procedures) and PFD describe the process as performed and the control strategy for the discrete manufacturing steps.
  • Provide support internal and joint process teams and to the global and local PLOT teams.

  • Ensure that experiments are well designed with clear objectives.

Basic Requirements :

  • Bachelors in STEM Discipline (Chemistry focus preferred) and at least 3 years of experience in cGMP manufacturing.
  • Master's Degree and 1 year experience in cGMP manufacturing.

Additional Preferences :

  • Relevant industrial experience in any of the following discipline such as API Manufacturing, TS / MS (Technical Services / Manufacturing Sciences), Quality Control, Quality Assurance, or Development.
  • Demonstrated basic knowledge in small or large molecule API Manufacturing.

Summary :

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will handle the monitoring and maintenance of technical aspects of the assembly process, looking at a variety of metrics gathered throughout the process.

They will coordinate and integrate the assembly process, as well as analyze efficiency data and process flow. The Senior Manufacturing Engineer works with the manufacturing manager to ensure standards for manufacturing are maintained, as well as in developing new production methods and implementing new product processes.

Responsibilities :

  • Design of manufacturing systems with the focus on continuous improvement related to quality and throughput capability of the assembly equipment.
  • Development of process documentation, including process stack sheets, process routings, PFMEAs, process flow diagrams, and error proofing plans.
  • Analysis of proposals for new machinery and equipment.
  • Lead the tryout and evaluation of new machinery and equipment.
  • Provide technical support to plant operations.
  • Develop and implement major Capital Appropriations Projects.
  • Development of cost estimates for new and major programs, often working from early concept cross sections, concept drawings, concurrent engineering discussions, and evolving assumptions.
  • Provides a physical presence in the workplace.
  • Positions involve the design, procurement, qualification and launch of assembly systems in a high volume production setting
  • Support of production systems to include continuous improvement, updates to existing equipment to maintain serviceability
  • Familiarity with torqueing systems, electrical and hydraulic press applications, automatic assembly, error-proofing, vision systems, and robotic applications

Experience :

Required :
