We are currently looking for a Manufacturing Supervisor to be based out of our Atlanta, GA facility. Reporting to the Production Manager, this person will be responsible for supervising and leading the manufacturing / shipping departments with an emphasis on teamwork, continuous improvement, lean concepts, and have full ownership for the shift safety, quality, delivery, and productivity performance.

The ideal candidate will have some relevant supervisory experience, or a Bachelors degree, and experience in manufacturing operations.

Experience in lean manufacturing or business system-based company is strongly preferred.

What you’ll do :

  • Lead the Atkore Business System and Lean Daily Management within their teams and utilize Lean tools for improvement projects focused on Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
  • Develop plans and implement strategies to improve the engagement, alignment, and performance of the team members within the value stream.
  • Instill and maintain a positive can-do team atmosphere within the value stream by holding regular team meetings, assigning tasks to team members, empowering team member decision-making, and coordinating support services.
  • Implement cross training activities to ensure proper function of the work cells and maximize team’s potential.
  • Develop and coach team members within the value stream with necessary skills to identify problems and challenges, perform root cause analyses and implement countermeasures and solutions as necessary.
  • Manage vacation schedules and overtime.
  • Maintain the discipline of Atkore policy and practices.
  • Provide clear concise communication both written and verbal.
  • Lead by example and exemplify the Atkore Core Values, Accountability, Teamwork, Integrity, Respect and Excellence.

What you’ll bring :

  • High School Diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent strongly preferred; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Two to three years of supervisory experience in a common manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in Aluminum / steel manufacturing, Metal Forming and Welding strongly preferred.
  • Strong leadership, solid work ethic, schedule flexibility, and ability to work additional hours based on business needs.

  • Continuous improvement background (lean, WCM, GMP, etc.) and the passion to grow your lean experience.

Within 3 months, you’ll :

  • Complete your Atkore immersion program and understand how your job will help deliver Atkore’s strategy.
  • Understand safety, quality, delivery, and cost opportunities and start prioritizing improvement needs.
  • Understand and all functions of LDM and KPI’s to delivered target results.
  • Knowledge of all Atkore Policies that pertain to Attendance and Performance Concerns, as well as how to Address Timely and Consistently.

Within 6 months, you’ll :

  • Take full ownership of the shift’s Lean Daily Management, including Tier 1 Gemba, and KPI boards.
  • Fully understand how you and your team impact Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC).
  • Comfortable Communicating concerns and ideas on opportunity for improvement.
  • Partner with Safety, Quality, and HR to investigate and provide corrective actions for on-the-job safety injuries, customer complaints, and labor relations issues.
  • Identify ways to strengthen the team’s commitment to Atkore’s core values of Accountability, Teamwork, Integrity, Respect and Excellence.

Within 12 months, you’ll :

  • Lead an efficient team that meets or exceeds performance goals for SQDC.
  • Identify gaps and implement counteractions to expected performance.
  • Own formal improvement tracking, including action plans.
  • Create and update reports, training materials, and procedures, as needed.
  • Drive Lean Transformation for your shift; initiate and implement projects to improve SQDC.

Job Description

The primary role for this position is to partner with Manufacturing to develop and sustain a well-trained and flexible workforce through hands-on training, mentoring, and formal certification.

Work closely with Production and Training Supervisor to identify and prioritize quarterly training goals based on production needs and training scorecard.

Routinely meet with Production and Training Supervisors to review training plan in order to achieve quarterly goals. Assist in maintaining the accuracy of manufacturing and training documentations to ensure the effectiveness of the training program.

Roles & Responsibilities :

  • Deliver OJT training courses in the areas of manufacturing skills and processes, quality system / GMP practices and requirements, information technology tools, and other subjects as required.
  • Assess employee skills and provide feedback to management
  • Track and maintain training data for accuracy
  • Provide technical support to Manufacturing personnel and the production line as needed.
  • Conduct training of Manufacturing personnel and perform certifications per certification criteria and requirements.
  • Perform weekly and monthly audits of manufacturing area based on Manufacturing Standards and Guidelines.
  • Solicit Training Evaluation from Manufacturing personnel to identify areas for improvement in training process.
  • Properly complete manufacturing documentation, initiate reports, escalate quality issues, report efficiency, and record measurements as needed.
  • Maintain excellent attendance record
  • Identify and prevent gaps in training and production coverage
  • Update / red-line MPIs using PowerPoint / Excel / Word as required.

Qualifications

  • The estimated base salary range for this role is $153,000 - $170,000. However, because this role is eligible to participate in Snowflake's commission plan, it is common for employees in this role to receive total on-target earnings of $306,000 - $340,000.
  • Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Snowflake’s equity plan.

The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location.
