The Opportunity
As the Manufacturing Services Engineer, you will implement and lead multiple Capital and productivity projects. You will also be responsible for Goal Deployment implementation at assigned facilities within their region and implementing projects of various size and scale, complexity, and duration to deliver process improvement solutions and operational excellence to the various JELD-WEN plants.
This position will direct and coordinate cross-functional teams and activities to complete assigned projects that are of significant complexity and value to ensure that projects are completed within prescribed contractual requirements, time frames, and funding parameters while employing Continuous Improvement (CI), Lean Six Sigma and SQDCI methodologies at all JELD-WEN manufacturing facilities in North America.
This position will report to the Director of Engineering.
What You Will Do
- Serve as the driving force and champion of executing organizational integration, capital equipment purchases and standardized roles, responsibilities, and accountabilities for all programs and projects for the NA Window and Door division.
- Plan and control the procurement process of capital equipment, materials and services. Ensure the equipment and / or services are delivered on time, on budget, and meet all JELD-WEN standards / specifications to ensure program success.
- Oversee and work with cross-functional teams to identify tasks, build and manage program plans, identify, assign, and commit functional resources to meet organization productivity commitments, goals and objectives.
- Incorporate Lean Six Sigma and SQDCI methodologies into programs and projects.
- Meet with and provide leadership and direction to cross-functional teams. Work cooperatively with senior leaders and multiple manufacturing locations.
Who You Are
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial, Operations, Manufacturing, Process Engineering, Mechanical, or related Engineering Degree required.
- ECRP program completion which includes in plant / process engineering to improve Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Inventory a must.
- Strong multi-project management skills and experience in organizing, prioritizing, planning, and executing multiple significant-scale projects from definition through implementation involving internal personnel and third-party contractors.
- Experience with operational analysis tools and development methodologies and matrix tools (i.e. measurement systems, business redesigns, service models, financial models, work and process flow diagrams).

JOB SUMMARY
This position reports to the Technical Support Supervisor and plays a key role in the assistance of the Technical Support and Production Departments.
This position will also interface with customers to provide assistance and technical troubleshooting of SO2, TRS, H2S, NOX, NO, NO2, NH3, O2, O3, CO, CO2, N2O gas instrumentation, and PM10, PM2.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
- Will provide customer assistance by repairing, advising on the repair and use, and factory repair of API analyzers and associated equipment used in their operation.
- Works on assignments that are semi-routine in nature but recognizes the need for occasionally deviation from accepted practice.
- Electronic troubleshooting and resolving problems in both software-controlled Analog and Digital surface mount circuit boards.
- Responsible for solving start-up and calibration problems and repairing instruments for the assigned products.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Associates degree in a mechanical related field or equivalent work experience with air pollution instrumentation and / or other mechanical / electro-mechanical machinery.
- 3-5 years of experience and / or education in a service-related environment, particularly oriented toward electronic, pneumatic and electromechanical instrumentation.
- Must have experience using the following test equipment : VOM, oscilloscopes, recorders, hand tools, test jibs and custom test equipment as required.
- Must be able to exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
- Must be able to communicate and articulate professionally and clearly both verbally and in writing.
- Must possess problem solving skills, strong digital and analog skills, and the ability to troubleshoot in a logical manner with high attention to detail.
