The Director of Transportation is an integral member of the ADI team that is responsible for strategic planning and execution of all aspects of transportation service and spend for the North American business unit.

The Director will lead activities and strategy to support customer service levels while delivering on financial commitments to the organization.

This position will leverage internal and external partnerships, technology, and data to identify opportunities to make positive changes to the business.

JOB DUTIES :

  • Develop and implement transportation management strategies to optimize the flow of goods in from our suppliers and out to branches and customers resulting in the overall improvement in company margins and service.
  • Create, manage, and execute transportation budgets and forecasts in support of overall company financial targets.
  • Identify strategies and tactics to negotiate and execute a balanced service vs. cost network of carriers
  • Perform competitive bids for services as needed and meet strategic initiatives
  • Manage carrier relationships and performance issues by implementing and monitoring corrective action plans with providers.
  • Ensure outbound delivery to branches arrive within the delivery window, reliably, consistently, and with quality
  • Drive change management, project activities, and system enhancements which generate year-over-year improvements in service and cost
  • Execute root cause corrective action analysis to effectively mitigate performance gaps and clearly communicate results to the organization
  • Develop and manage transportation support structure
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory issues

YOU MUST HAVE :

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain / Logistics or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of transportation management experience
  • Experience managing freight impacts to P&L including accrual reconciliation
  • Experience negotiating freight contracts

Responsibilities

  • Manage, oversee, and coordinate the ordering, execution, and processing of Logistics services specifically related to fluid hauling, crude hauling, pipeline water transportation, crude delivery points, and production water disposal (the position may also include other production operation related services that might arise)
  • Communicate with Production Operations daily to support the needs of the field (fluid hauling, service work request, set-up and coordinate hauling needs, etc)
