Job Summary :
This role is primarily responsible for the transportation and routing support for the Atlanta Kendall Park Replenishment activities of Cardinal Health medical products and supplies.
Location : Ability to travel to support Atlanta, GA replenishment center as needed. This facility is located on the southwest side toward South Fulton.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily execution of Middle mile shipments from assigned Replenishment Center(s) to forward distribution centers and our customers.
- Resolve problems concerning distribution, carrier, fleet, and customer issues associated with delivery and logistics flow.
- Manage daily on-time performance including departure and delivery.
- Manage financial components for middle mile deliveries including the assets utilization and shipment mode optimization.
- Support root cause identification / day-to-day execution, resolution of challenges / opportunities, customer implementation / disengagement.
- Deliver process improvements that drive efficiency and help to ensure budget accountability and savings opportunity identification.
- Coordinate daily and weekly carrier performance reviews as well as support carrier RFPs as needed in partnership with the Network Performance and Procurement teams.
- Support the development and implementation of our enterprises products and systems.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders including logistics service providers, carriers, customers, and customer teams to ensure alignment and collaboration in achieving enterprise logistics goals.
- Support cross functional teams in driving continuous improvement in Logistics Operations, including identifying areas for process improvement, cost reduction, and optimization of deliveries.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred, or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years experience supporting the logistics / transportation industry preferred.
- Experience partnering with Carriers and working through Carrier resolution strongly preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft office.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Job Description

As the largestrefugee resettlement agency in Georgia, the IRC in Atlanta resettles an averageof 800 refugees into Georgia annually and provides additional services andassistance to another 1,500 refugees and asylees.
SCOPEOF LOGISTICS INTERN WORK : TheLogistics interns will work closely with the Logistic Specialist to coordinatetransportation and interpreters to assist newly arrived refugee families attendcore services and other appointments such as doctor visits and social services.
The Logistics Intern will also assist with orienting clients to MARTA andassisting Specialist with organizing data pertaining to client arrivals.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Orienting clients to MARTA / public transportation (to IRC, health clinic, shopping centers)
- Assisting Logistics staff to prepare for incoming arrivals with a focus on supporting new arrival orientation
- Supporting representatives from various social services agencies to process clients DFCSoffice / SS office
- Coordinating transportation and interpreters with Logistics team to assist newly arrived refugee families to attend core services and medical appointments
- Providing general administrative support to Logistics team
- Occasionally transporting and / or accompanying clients to appointments
- Other duties as needed and assigned by Logistics team
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS :
- Must be over 18 years of age
- Bi-lingual in a relevant language is a plus
- Clean driving record required
- Occasional heavy lifting may be requested
- Proven ability to work with consideration and respect for cross-cultural differences
- Excellent communication and organization skills with attention to detail
- Able to work independently and under pressure

What You’ll Do
Packs, loads, unloads, transports and moves freight within assigned work site to include any AmericasMart campus, AmericasMart Logistics warehouse or work site by performing the following duties.
- Reads work orders, or follows verbal instructions, to ascertain materials, pulls freight from the warehouse and readies freight for transport, packs goods into box containers to be moved; opens containers.
- Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand or forklift; loads materials into vehicles and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
- Packs items from customers’ showrooms in boxes or other packing materials and shrink wraps freight to pallets.
- Operates industrial forklift to assist in loading / unloading of materials and products.
- Conveys materials from storage, or work sites, to designated area.
- Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, crates, or other containers.
- Counts, weighs, and records number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheet.
- Creates manifests for trucks as they are being loaded / unloaded.
- Creates delivery and pick up receipts for freight and obtains signatures from owners of said freight.
- Inspects freight and other items for damage; notes damages and reports damages.
- Assists on loading docks as necessary.
- Ensures warehouse and other work areas are clean and orderly.
- Maintains warehouse locations in IMC systems to ensure all freight is easily locatable by all team members.
