As the face of Airgas, the Delivery Driver is responsible for safely and efficiently delivering compressed gas cylinders to local and regional business customers from an Airgas branch or plant location using a company-provided straight or box truck.
The Delivery Driver loads unloads, delivers, and returns compressed gas cylinders while frequently interacting with Airgas customers.

In addition, Airgas operates a modern and efficient fleet. Most vehicles are under 6 years old and equipped with driver-friendly technology, such as On Board Computers, collision avoidance technology, latest camera technology and GPS navigation.
Monday - Friday (Day Schedule)
Safely load, deliver and unload cylinders containing compressed gasses to customer locations. Deliver compressed gas cylinders to external and internal customer sites.
Record deliveries and pick-ups on a load manifest and obtain signatures from customers for receipt purposes. Collect empty cylinders or rejected or unsold merchandise.
Return empty cylinders to either a plant or branch location for refilling.
Comply with Airgas safety standards (SAFECOR) and all government regulations including, but not limited to, those issued by the Department of Transportation (DOT), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), Food & Drug Administration (FDA), and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
Work in the warehouse or on the dock as needed.

Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.
Must be able to work occasional overtime if necessary.

Responsibilities
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Read bills of lading to determine assignment details.
- Inspect loads to ensure that cargo is secure and notify warehouse if rebuilding the load is required for safety.
- Inventory and inspect goods to be moved to determine quantities and conditions.
- Secure cargo for transport, blocks, chain, binders, or tarps.
- Follow appropriate safety procedures for transporting oversized loads.
- Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew and checking that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned.
- Operate equipment, such as truck cab computers, CB radios, phones, or global positioning systems (GPS) equipment to exchange necessary information with bases, supervisors, or other drivers.
- Check all load-related documentation for completeness and accuracy.
- Couple or uncouple trailers by changing trailer jack positions, connecting, or disconnecting air or electrical lines, or manipulating fifth-wheel locks.
- Check conditions of trailers after contents have been unloaded to ensure that there has been no damage.
- Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.
- Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles.
- Maintain logs of working hours or of vehicle service or repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations.
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks, such as adding oil, fuel, or radiator fluid or performing minor repairs.
- Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods and collect payment for services when required.

Employee DOT Local Driver
Essential Functions
- Drives commercial motor vehicle (truck) to transport and deliver freight.
- Can read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with management, clients, employees, the general public, and law enforcement (49 CFR 391.11).
- Must be able to read road signs, maps, shipping documents, work instructions, and other written documents.
- Maintains contact with dispatch or supervisor to receive instructions or be dispatched to new locations.
- Maintains electronic driver logs compliant with state and federal regulations (49 CFR 395).
- Performs pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections per regulation and procedure, and maintains associated records as required.
- Maintains shipping paperwork records of materials / products transported.
- Obtains client signature for goods delivered, accurately noting shipper load and count status, delivery condition, and seal status.
- Assists in loading and unloading truck manually if required.
- Capable of driving up to 11 hours per day and being on duty up to 14 hours per day when required.

Other Skills and Abilities
Must be willing to transport interstate or intrastate freight as dispatched, typically on local business where the work shift begins and ends at the local Terminal May occasionally be dispatched on non-local trips requiring overnight or multi-day travel away from the home terminal.
Physical Requirements

Education and Experience
- Must have one year or greater previous driving experience in the type of equipment to be operated.
- Must have a High School diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
- Must not have previous 3-year employer history of failed or refused drug / alcohol tests.
- Must not be under FMCSA drug / alcohol follow-up testing requirements related to any SAP process
Certifications and Licenses
Must possess a valid Class A CDL License with current medical card certification.

ACERTUS is looking for Non-CDL Local Drivers to transport passenger vehicles locally in a safe and efficient manner. We are looking for team players who are committed to providing our clients with excellent customer service.
Your schedule is flexible, and you can work up to 29 hours a week. This is a Part Time position.
WE OFFER :
- $13 / hr for a Non-CDL driver's license - $14 / hr DOT - $15 / hr for a CDL driver's license.

WE REQUIRE :
- Although the position title says "Non-CDL," we must say that we are only looking for DOT / CDL drivers at this time . If you do not meet this requirement, we will hold off on your information and reach out to you again when we have new vacancies for regular drivers.
