Job Skills / Requirements

Will perform routine building cleaning under supervision, including trash removal; mopping, window cleaning; dusting, dust-mopping, and sweeping;

cleaning laboratories; furniture polishing; moving and setting up furniture and equipment; and policing grounds for litter.

Must have ability to work with other crew members and take direction from supervisor, must be able to perform all physical aspects of the job duties.

Standard Job Duties and Responsibilities Include :

• Sweep, mop, and wash floors, stairs, and other surfaces inside the buildings.
• Use light and heavy commercial machines and attachments, such as floor buffers.
• Vacuum rugs, or carpets in offices and public areas.
• Daily spot cleaning and shampooing when directed.
• Clean and dust furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures, and all other horizontal surfaces, including periodically high dusting.
• Wash windowsills, glass and interior doors, partition, and specified windows.
• Wash glass and trim at entrance doors, interior, and exterior.
• Clean bathrooms and restock paper supplies daily. Standard bathroom procedures include wiping glass surfaces, empty wastebaskets, service soap, and toilet paper dispensers, dust, cleaning tile walls, shelves, stall partitions, sweeping / mop / scrub floors, etc.
• Monitor possible defects such as clogged urinals or burnt-out light bulbs and report to supervisors.
• Perform and document routine inspection and maintenance activities
• Collect building trash daily and place it in the designated collection area. Replace liners in wastebaskets.
• Maintain all equipment.
• Ability to lift and carry objects from 15 to 30 pounds
• Regular bending, lifting and stretching, and reaching both below the waist and above the head.
• Works directly with operations management, executive team, and ownership to ensure that the team is providing the best service experience possible for our clients.
• Work well with limited supervision and cooperate with the rest of the staff
• Follow and adhere to all safety and security guidelines.
• Proper usage of chemicals and cleaning supplies.
• Perform any other job-related duties assigned by Property Management or PTX Operations team.

PCSI is looking for a Janitor at its San Antonio (Camp Bullis) Site! We are searching for a motivated, friendly team member to perform janitorial duties.

The right person will have a proactive attitude and takes pride in their accomplishments. This position will report to the Project Manager.

Shift : 7 : 30 am 4 : 30 pm Monday Friday, some Saturdays

What You'll Do as a Janitor :

• Performs a variety of routine, unskilled and semi-skilled housekeeping work while maintaining the premises of office buildings, apartment houses and / or other commercial or institutional buildings in a clean and orderly condition.
• Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, break rooms, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms and other work areas.
• Cleans and polishes lighting fixtures, marble surfaces and trim.
• Sweeps and mops floors, and may occasionally operate a floor buffer.
• Cleans rugs and / or vacuums carpets, upholstered furniture and draperies.
• Dusts furniture and equipment. Polishes metalwork.
• Washes walls, ceiling and woodwork. Washes windows, door panels and sills.
• Empties wastebaskets, and empties and cleans ashtrays.
• Transports trash, waste and recyclables to disposal areas.
• Replenishes bathroom supplies.
• Opens, closes, locks and unlocks facilities as needed.
• Keeps records of work completed.
• Moves and sets up furniture, pictures, etc. as needed and assigned.
• Policing of grounds, maintaining parking lots and walkways free of debris.
• Conserve cleaning supplies.
• Maintain assigned equipment in satisfactory and working condition.
• Read and be able to understand correct dilution rates for cleaning chemicals.
• Follow all facility safety polices and procedures.
• Comply with all City, State, and Federal agencies requirements.
• Make all decisions based on safety first.
• Read and fully understand the Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for all chemicals and solutions used in our processes and procedures.
• No requirement for software use.
• Use of general cleaning equipment such as mops, brooms, pails, etc...
• Use of equipment such as buffers, vacuums, Fans etc

What You'll Need to Be Successful :

Education

High school diploma or equivalent.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

Minimum one year experience as a Janitor preferred or any combination of education and training which demonstrates the knowledge and experience to perform the work.

Physical Demands

• Heavy work - Pushing objects up to 100 pounds, lifting or carrying objects weighting up to 60 pounds.
• Squatting and bending - Bending the body downward and forward by bending at the knees.
• Climbing - Ascending or descending Ladders and stairs.
• Walking - Tour facility approximately 90% of the time during working hours.

Mental Demands

• Ability to verbally relate to others. Willingness to assist others when needed.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions.

Working Conditions

• Exposure to dirt, dust, odors, chemicals and / or infectious disease.
• May be required to work in aseptic areas and / or outdoors.
• Must be available to work flexible hours. Including but not limited to mornings, nights, and some weekends and holidays.

Other Requirements :

Ability to pass criminal, drug, financial, and driving screening.

Possess valid drivers license and maintain good driving record.

Ability to work any time or day of the week, including weekends and holidays.

If required, ability to obtain and maintain security clearance and base access to assigned site(s).

Hourly Rate : $16.20 Schedule : Monday thru Friday 7 : 00am to 3 : 30pm Monday thru Friday 6 : 30am to 3 : 00pm Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include weekends, evenings and holidays as needed.

These responsibilities may differ among accounts, depending on business necessities and client requirements. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

Cleans bathrooms, offices, hallways, locker rooms, break rooms, shower rooms, holding cells, surfaces and other assigned areas by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, buffing and polishing;

help organize site supplies.

• Empties and decontaminates trash containers.
• Disposes of infectious waste when assigned.
• Mixes or blends routine cleaning solutions to proper concentrations as necessary for various tasks.
• Washes blinds, windows, screens, sills and walls with prescribed solutions.
• Sweeps sidewalks, porches and tiled surfaces.
• Launder rags, mops, etc. from sites.
• Picks up trash and paper around buildings.
• Must be able to climb a step ladder, use floor burnisher, and communicate effectively with customers.
• Other tasks as may be directed by the Project Manager / Supervisor.
• Pass and maintain any required security clearance requirement and comply with Drug Free Workplace policy.
• Adheres to Operations Security (OPSEC) standard operations procedures.
• Adheres to Property Control Plan for management of Government Furnished Property (GFP).
• Adheres to the safety and health program that complies with EM 385-1-1 and applicable OSHA, DOD, Armed Forces Branch(s), Federal, state, and local safety, environmental and health requirements.
• Maintain a site-specific Accident Prevention Plan (APP) in accordance with Appendix A, EM 385-1-1.
