Overview of the role

The Hotel Maintenance Technician is responsible for assisting with the operation, maintenance, service, and repair of equipment as assigned.

This person is also responsible for participating in the preventative maintenance program, handling guest or residents’ requests and other work orders as assigned.

They are also responsible for performing the job in a safe and efficient manner and performing trade jobs, such as carpentry, painting, etc., as assigned.

Experience in hotel building systems, or hospitality related maintenance field

What you’ll do

Handle and complete guest maintenance requests in a timely fashion

Do periodic property tours and exterior perimeter for debris and trash removal, lighting examination, and irrigation check up

Perform repair and preventative maintenance on plumbing, HVAC, laundry equipment, exhaust fans, vacuum, and other equipment throughout the hotel

Report emergencies and safety hazard immediately and assist with safety concerns

Maintain the maintenance area or department in a clean and orderly state, to include cleaning, inspection, and inventory of tools, parts, and supplies

Actively engage and promote safety and safe work practices, interdepartmentally and hotel wide

Communicate daily activities and work orders to other shifts using approved communication methods and standards

Interact with hotel guests to resolve maintenance issues in a professional and courteous matter that is align with Mainsail standards

Comply with Mainsail Lodging and Development’s standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations

Other necessary duties as assigned by reasonably assigned

Performing General Physical Activities : Must stand for long periods of time and multi-task in a fast- paced environment while performing physical activities that require moderate strength including climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, and handling of materials.

The dishwasher must be able to perform tasks safely in an environment is often wet. Must exert well-paced mobility for periods of up to four hours in length.

What you will be doing

The Vice President of Finance and Accounting is responsible for ensuring that Hospitality Ventures is meeting the requirements of Hospitality Ventures leadership, as well as owners / investors.

This includes the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, ensuring appropriate controls are in place to safeguard assets, and utilizing efficient and effective processes at the hotels and within corporate.

Education :

  • 15 years experience and demonstrated expertise in financial reporting, cash management, fixed asset accounting, taxes
  • CPA with hospitality and / or real estate experience strongly preferred
  • Experience managing a staff of 5 or more.
  • Demonstrated ability in Strategic Agility, Problem Solving, Priority Setting and Planning, and Delegation
  • Strong communication skills, strategic agility, process engineering and people management.
  • Experience with M-3, Profit Sword Suite, and Hotel Effectiveness.
  • Extensive knowledge of financial statement preparation, accounts payable, payroll, and income audit back of house hospitality systems.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
