POSITION SUMMARY

A Host / Hostess presents a positive first impression of the establishment's friendliness, excellent service, and high standards.

The Host / Hostess also greet Guests upon arrival, inform Guests of their wait time, monitor a waiting list, enter Guest names into the computer system, show Guests to their table and bid Guests farewell as they leave.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Greet patrons, and if needed, confirm reservations, take reservations, and track occupancy chart for space
  • Answers phone calls and gives basic information on reservations, availability, restaurant hours and services
  • Keep track of the waiting list and open tables
  • Assign tables to guests depending on party size, waiter / waitress availability
  • Accurately quote wait times to patrons
