ABOUT THIS POSITION

Waystar is looking for an experienced Contract Analyst with previous experience supporting healthcare software applications, preferably within a healthcare contract management role.

The Contract Analyst will serve as a business contact for our clients regarding managed care contracts and will be responsible in maintaining client commercial and government contracts.

A successful candidate will become a trusted advisor and liaison to the client, serving as the primary contact for our customers regarding contracts.

Some responsibilities include : implementing new contracts, updating existing contracts, validating contract terms, and addressing any client issues or concerns.

An ideal candidate for this position can approach problem-solving challenges independently, have strong attention to detail, enjoy working in a fast-paced, collaborative and team-based environment.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Gather, interpret and implement contract builds into Waystar's Contract Management platform
  • Perform validation of contract terms by reviewing account examples and confirming correct expected reimbursement generated
  • Manage the contract workflow to ensure timely and accurate implementation of contracts
  • Collaborate with client during contract interpretation and validation stages, as well as post go-live
  • Work closely with implementation consultants and auditors to validate accounts prior to client go-live
  • Periodically perform analysis of 835 remittance advice payment & adjustment transactions to support payment reconciliation

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Contract analyst experience in healthcare software or healthcare consulting environment
  • Ability to interpret contract language from managed care contracts
  • Ability to research and interpret regulatory guidelines for Medicare, Medicaid, Tricare, and Workers Compensation
  • Understanding of hospital revenue cycle operations and healthcare coding (i.e. DRG, CPT4, HCPCS, revenue codes, APG, APC, ICD-10, etc.)
  • An in-depth subject matter expertise and dedication to remaining current with industry and relevant legislative changes
  • Must be a quick learner with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated effective communication, both orally and in writing
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with cross-functional teams
  • Must possess strong analytical, attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with Excel and PowerPoint

Preferred :

  • Prior experience with relational databases. SQL knowledge is a plus!
  • 2 years of experience as a Contract Analyst in a healthcare company
  • Strong financial analysis skills and experience

Responsibilities

  • Implementation of physicians prescribed plan of care
  • Patient assessments and coordination of care
  • Administration of prescribed medication, treatments, and therapies
  • Compliant, timely documentation of care provided in system of record

  • Master's degree in business, science, or healthcare-related field.
