Marquee Sports Network is the exclusive television home of the MLB Chicago Cubs in partnership with Sinclair Broadcast Group (Nasdaq : SBGI).
It is the Chicago-region’s exclusive network for fans to view live Cubs games, features extensive pre and postgame coverage, exclusive Cubs content and other local sports programming.
Marquee Sports Network brings together one of the most iconic sports franchises in the country with one of the largest television broadcasting companies to deliver unprecedented Cubs coverage for fans.
Marquee is also the television home of the WNBA Chicago Sky, providing a variety of exciting coverage.
We are seeking a full-time Graphic Designer who will contribute to build upon the visual identity of Marquee Sports Network.
This role provides support for the graphics and production teams with game-day design and support throughout the regular Cubs season, as well as be a primary source for Network branding and creation of set designs for Marquee’s roster of shows / specials.
They will provide direct support to internal departments through all stages of project development and execute strategic creative initiatives.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Serve as a designer in a fast-paced, live television environment
- Design across a wide spectrum of items ranging from digital / social static items to building animated elements etc.
- Collaborate with on-air production team to design and produce day-of-game studio and broadcast graphics
- Utilize still and animated After Effects templates while also leading custom set development for special events and holidays
- Develop and build team assets for seasonal use
- Maintain and organize logo / assets as needed for ease of use across all mediums
- Assist in template building alongside the Lead Motion Graphic Designer, as well as help to train and supervise freelancers
- Working specific games and assisting in oversight of freelance day-of-game designers (including nights and weekends)
- Assist with sales mock-ups, sponsor items, marketing creative, and promo requests as needed
- Adhere to Marquee Sports Network’s brand guidelines and expectations across platforms
- Other duties as assigned
Skills & Qualifications
- Fluent in Adobe Creative Suite (specifically After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.)
- Prior AfterEffects / Motion Graphics experience (1-2 years preferred)
- A sports background or passion for designing in sports is a big plus
- Effective communicator with strong organizational skills, as well as being a team player
- Ability to work quickly under tight deadlines while managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to prioritize projects or delegate items in a timely manner
- Ability to work occasional nights and weekends
- A great attitude and work ethic

Overview
The Graphic Designer is responsible for contributing to concept development and to the translation and extension of brand concepts into effective visual communication designs for digital and print campaigns.
Under the direction of a Graphic Design Manager, you will work hands-on with several projects at a time and will be involved in all phases of creative development.
You will be responsible for executing projects with guidance of the senior creative staff.
The Graphic Designer should have attention to detail, be pro-active, have a strong work ethic, good customer experience / people skills in line with our company’s core values, the ability to multi-task under ever changing deadlines;
have a creative eye for design, composition, typography, and photo selection with the ability to edit and touch up images.
You will be involved in conceptualizing and executing new creative for email, digital ad and web assets, social media, print collateral, as well as executing on existing branded templates.
A good knowledge of the following tools and skill sets are required :
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Mac) : Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, as well as Acrobat, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint,
with skillful use of typography, design layout, and photo editing.
A working knowledge of Premier Pro, After Effects, video editing, animation, or email design best practices including responsive design, HTML / HTML5 / CSS and / or any email service provider (ESP) or email content builders such as : Acoustic, Message Composer, or Litmus is a plus.
Responsibilities :
Design opportunities will include, but are not limited to conceptualizing, designing, developing, implementing, and A / B testing email marketing promotions, digital newsletters and blogs, social and digital display ads, remarketing / retargeting display ads,
print collateral, designing logos and branded campaigns, along with other various informational and promotional materials.
- Producing attractive and effective designs for all media platforms
- Design and execution of email campaigns (new creative as well as branded templates)

Senior Graphic Designer creates and designs digital and physical collateral in
a wide range of media, manages design projects from concept to completion, and
presents concepts and work to internal clients through exceptional visual,
verbal and written communication.
Essential
Functions
- Create and design digital and physical collateral to support restaurant and company branding in a wide range of media (including but not limited to menus, packaging, marketing campaigns, apparel, merchandise, signage, print collaterals), collaborate on ui / ux design, prepare digital and physical mockups, and incorporate creative copy into design as needed
- Manage multiple design projects from concept to completion, including but not limited to communicating timelines, following brand guidelines and creative briefs, and providing regular updates to to the project manager and internal clients
- Proficiently use graphic design software including but not limited to Adobe Creative Suite (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign), and maintain organized files and accurate time tracking
- Use effective written, verbal and visual communication to present work to internal clients, and effectively respond to direction and feedback from department leaders and internal clients
- Maintain menus and ongoing collaterals for restaurants as assigned
- Maintain working knowledge of environmental graphic design (EGD) including but not limited to assembly, materials and installation techniques applicable to signage and other EGD projects
- Manage print production process with vendors for cost, quality control and timely delivery
- Maintain knowledge of current design trends and aesthetics and proficiency with new graphic design technologies
- Travel to local and out-of-state locations as needed, including but not limited to delivering collateral, onsite installations, and restaurant openings
- Maintain availability to perform duties outside standard business hours on occasion as needed including evenings and weekends
