POSITION SUMMARY : The Gourmet Food Server is responsible for creating the overall guest experience, taking food / beverage orders, carrying out wine / beverage service, performing table maintenance, completing side work, maintaining health code standards, and providing excellent customer service for our guests in accordance with all PlayLV’s Company standards, policies, and procedures.

  • Takes initial food and / or beverage order within five minutes of being seated.

  • Display knowledge of all emergency procedures.

  • Remove debris (napkins, straws etc.) from the floors necessary.
  • Monitor door at all times to ensure prompt seating of guest.
  • Responsible for cleanliness of host / hostess stand floors, menus, and signage and special boards. Have knowledge of all methods of check tendering (cash, comp, coupon, credit cards, gift certificates ETC.)

RESPONSIBLE ALCOHOL MANAGEMENT

  • Recognize and acknowledge when Guests are becoming intoxicated and / or are intoxicated
  • Monitor potentially intoxicated and / or disruptive Guests and promptly bring to a Manager’s attention
  • Refuse further service of alcohol to intoxicated Guests in a courteous and safety-minded manner
  • Responsible for accurately checking Guest identification
  • Comply with all safety and health department procedures as well as Company and / or departmental policies / procedures
  • Comply with all state and federal liquor laws

Requirements

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE :

Required :

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) required
  • At least 2 year of previous experience working in a similar resort setting
  • At least 1 year of previous Food and Beverage experience in a fast-paced environment with food service experience
  • General knowledge of wine and spirits
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information
  • Must possess excellent customer service / communication skills
  • Available to work required schedule which may include nights, weekends, holidays and overtime as needed
  • Must be able to maintain a neat, professional, well-groomed appearance and uphold company appearance / dress standards
