Moog Advanced Programs (AP) West, a business unit of Moog Space and Defense, is looking for a Satellite Flight Software Engineer to join our Space Vehicles team in Golden, CO.

Moog AP West specializes in passive and active vibration suppression / load alleviation products and services, spacecraft buses and sub-systems, spacecraft and payload structure and propulsive accommodations, and precision motion control.

The Space Vehicles team is rapidly growing and comprises a cross-disciplinary group of industry veterans and young talent alike.

The focus is on the development of satellite buses, Orbital Maneuvering Vehicles (OMVs), space tugs, and more. The team is a tight-knit group of collaboration-oriented professionals that welcome others looking to work on multi-faceted, complex problems as a team.

• This position has a primary focus of Flight Software Engineering. The role includes the following : review requirements and design documents;
• work directly with Flight Software System Engineers, Test and Integration teams to ensure the product is being adequately design, implemented and tested;

work directly with customer to ensure features and changes are captured.

The Golden, CO location is nestled in the foothills of the front range, just west of Denver. The office is a 5-minute drive from downtown Golden and is an easy commute from most of the Denver Metro area.

Required Qualifications :

B.S. (4 year) in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or similar.

2 years Software Development experience.

Experience developing in C++.

Self-Starter, ability to work in a fast-paced team environment and can communicate effectively.

Desired Skills :

Experience using VxWorks, or other RTOS.

Experience with Spacecraft Flight Software development and design.

Experience deploying software to embedded targets.

Experience in Python3, XML and / or scripting language (Linux Shells).

Experience with developing and debugging driver-level firmware.

Experience using common communications protocols / standards such as TCP / IP, Ethernet, SpaceWire, LVDS, RS-422, RS-485, I2C, SPI.

Experience using container engines such as Docker, containerd, or LXC.

Experience using networking software (netcat, WireShark)

Experience using common electronic laboratory equipment such as digital multimeters, power supplies, oscilloscopes, etc.

Experience debugging sensitive electronic hardware.

Experience with VS Code.

Experience developing in Windows and Linux environments.

Qualifications :

Maxar is currently seeking a Flight Dynamics Systems Engineer to join our Aerospace Engineering team in Herndon, VA. This position will support orbit design, development, integration, and testing of future cislunar spacecraft.

It will also support the Navigation Systems team in Westminster, CO which is responsible for orbit determination, orbit prediction, orbit maintenance, and collision avoidance operations and associated software development for Maxar’s Earth Intelligence spacecraft constellation.

As a Flight Dynamics Systems Engineer, you will work as part of larger multi-disciplinary teams that include spacecraft system engineers, ground system engineers, software engineers and spacecraft operations teams.

What you will do :

Support the Aerospace Engineering team to integrate launch and cislunar trajectory planning, feasibility, and visualization into the Maxar software tool suite.

Planar orbits about all libration points

Support the Navigation Systems team in the execution of spacecraft navigation operations, mission design, analyses, system development, and documentation.

Perform analyses to quantify operational performance metrics.

Develop spacecraft navigation software in a cloud-based, service architecture.

Execute predicted orbit maintenance scenarios to maintain constellation orbits and spacecraft safety.
