The Concessions Associate within the Food & Merchandise department at The Chicago Theatre is a multi-faceted position responsible for assisting our bartenders and barbacks during the shift with any operational duties required in order to reach our goal of providing outstanding customer satisfaction.
Specific duties will vary on a nightly basis. As a crucial member of our team, a Concessions Associate may be requested to work a flexible schedule inclusive of early mornings, day & evening shifts (late evenings may be required), weekends, holidays and back to back events.
All candidates must be available to work one third of the monthly show schedule. Additionally, a Concessions Associate may be assigned to an area where adverse temperature / weather conditions.
This role requires employees to stand for long periods of time and move freely throughout the property during their shift.
What will you do?
- Preparing and distributing fresh popcorn to all concession stands.
- Serving Drinks and Snacks tableside to patrons in designated seating areas.
- Pouring Beer for Bartenders at Designated times and locations.
- Assisting guests with checking their coats and various personal items upon entry to the theatre.
- Maintaining an organized workstation to ensure guest items are secure and returned in an efficient and prompt manner.
- Providing fast, professional, and courteous beverage service to guests within the auditorium.
- Setting up and maintaining organization and cleanliness of an assigned area.
- Working rapidly and remaining calm during peak periods.
- Breaking down and cleaning service bar and tables accordingly.
- Helping to set up, stock, and maintain bar areas.
- Maintain proper communication and radio etiquette over two-way radios
What do you need to succeed?
- Prior experience as a bartender, server, or barback is strongly encouraged.
- Ability to work a point of sale system with cash and credit card payments, balance a bank and cash drawer.
- Ability to multitask in a high-volume entertainment-based environment.
- All candidates must be available to work one third of all monthly scheduled events.
- Must be able to tolerate and work in a loud, fast paced environment
- Must possess outstanding communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to maintain a professional manner, presence, and appearance always while on premises / duty.
- Must have ability to multitask and be flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Be prepared to take an active role in Emergency Operations procedures (evacuation plan) through on-going training and drills.
- General computer and email proficiency are required.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB :
- Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds and have a food handler permit.
- Must be receptive to working outside in inclement weather and extreme temperatures.
- Able to walk and stand during the entire shift.
- Lifting, pushing, pulling up to 50lbs
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, have split days off, work weekends and holidays in a 24 X 7 environment.
- Must be comfortable with heights.

The Street Team Coordinator will work alongside the Sr. Director, Marketing and Marketing Coordinator to plan and execute all grassroots programming and activations to promote the all-new Chicago Street Course race weekend, July 1-2.
Note - This is a seasonal position for the Chicago Street Course event.
Duties :
- In conjunction with Marketing team, manage the logistics and operations of in-market event functions including layout, collateral, prize management, prospecting, data management and impact.
- Manage the Chicago Street Race Promo Car, Simulator & Trophy program, planning the appearance schedule, coordinating event logistics, developing a prospect conversion plan, maintaining relationships with event contacts and delivering a positive experience for fans and partners
- Assist with planning as needed including booking entertainment, securing décor, handling contracts & COIs, coordinating schedules and managing any other needs.
- Maintains inventory logs of prizes, collateral and support items needed.
- Support in the planning and execution of race weekend programming
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications :
- Sports marketing or event management experience a significant plus
- Self-starter who takes initiative and is able to take a project from start to finish
- Strong ability to think strategically, creatively and quickly
- Detail-oriented and organized with outstanding communication skills
- Ability to work through on-site event logistics and think operationally is a must
- True team player and collaborator
- Ability to coordinate and deliver multiple projects at once within strict deadlines

WHAT YOU’LL DO
Direct, plan, coordinate and execute event and event details for large onsite and offsite client events. This includes, but is not limited to : Plan, manage, and execute operations and logistics for each event such as event registration, order food / beverage, AV, transportation, etc.
Ensure the event is consistent with client branding Research, negotiate, and secure contracts with venues, event organizers, contractors, hotels, and outside creative agenciesDevelop and maintain relationships with vendors including restaurants, conference venues, caterers, florists, etc.
Manage the event and work quickly to resolve any problems that arise
- Create, maintain, and execute the event budget within the pre-approved expenditure allotments
- Evaluate an event’s overall success and share findings with the manager
- Manage entire event process and work with event team to ensure all events are staffed, recaps are sent after all events, event ROI management, proactively create demos for events, and have back up plans in place in case any problems may arise

WHAT YOU’LL BRING
Experience and Education :
- 4+ years experience in event planning and coordination, including large-scale events
- 2+ years experience in managing multiple clients or client accounts
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or equivalent experience, preferred
- Virtual event experience (security, registrations, platform design, invitations)
Skills and Attributes :
- Excellent project management, time management, and organizational skills with the ability to meet strict deadlines
