Sous Chef
Who are we hiring?
The Sous Chef is responsible for the day-to-day culinary operation such as inventory, kitchen staff management and food preparation.
The Sous Chef is responsible for helping to direct and oversee all aspects of the kitchen operation. The Sous Chef will assist in coordinating activities and functions and will provide functional assistance in conjunction with other heads in the Food and Beverage department, especially in the absence of Executive Chef.
This position reports to the Executive Chef.
What will you do?
- Collaborates to design and implement menu planning for the teams being mindful of creativity and food allergies.
- Partner with the Executive Chef to lead all kitchen staff responsible for the daily preparation of all food production to ensure that methods of cooking, garnishing, and portion-sizing are as prescribed by standard recipes
- Partner with Executive Chef to find efficiencies with food presentation; collaborate on menu writing, monthly inventories, pricing, requisitioning, and issuing for food production
- Responsible for the cleaning and sanitation process within the kitchen and surrounding back of the house areas; maintain and enforce sanitation laws and safety standards with individuals entering kitchen area.
- Partner with the Procurement team to research, source, and negotiate qualified suppliers for the purchasing of equipment, materials, supplies, goods, and / or services that meet the quantity and quality expectations of the Company
- Ensure consistency in the preparation of all food items according to recipes and standards.
- Maintain and enhance the food products through creative menu development and presentation.
What do you need to succeed?
- Minimum 5 years of prior supervisory experience in a large volume culinary or catering operation with multiple outlets required.
- Experience with menu design, planning, culinary instruction, and presentation.
- Experience in managing cross functional teams and building relationships
- Successful track record of measuring improvements in customer satisfaction and loyalty
- Excellent verbal & written communication, strong interpersonal / customer service skills, organizational and time management skills required
Ideally, you’ll also have :
- Bi-lingual in Spanish is preferred
- Demonstrates integrity, tact, diplomacy and a commitment to company values, and principles while ensuring the upmost consistency
- Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while managing multiple tasks.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB :
- Frequent lifting and carrying of up to 30 pounds
- Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, and lifting required

- Must be able to work a flexible schedule inclusive of am shifts, pm shifts, weekends, and holidays required.
- Certified in (SNDH) Southern Nevada Department of Health regulatory standards.

Custodian (Part-Time)
Who are we hiring?
The Custodian will be responsible for the cleanliness and organization of their assigned area throughout MSG’s Sphere. This position will be responsible for the daily cleanliness of entire area as well as any daily or weekly special cleaning projects on a regular basis.
What will you do?
- Shampooing, spotting, stripping, and waxing, burnishing, detail cleaning, scrubbing floors with specialized machines. Pressure washing exterior of building as needed.
- Maintain the cleanliness of all restrooms during events; removes restroom trash and maintains restroom supplies.
- Service and maintain trash compactor area
- Create an inviting and positive atmosphere that generates positive and memorable guest experiences.
What do you need to succeed?
- Must have previous experience with operating and maintaining floor scrubbers, ride-on floor scrubber machines, mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, and detail cleaning.
- Must be proficient at utilizing necessary equipment and safety requirements for said equipment.
- Must possess understanding of cleaning solutions and application of said solutions.
- Previous guest service experience required.
- Must be able to communicate effectively and follow directions.

Event Expeditor
Who are we hiring?
The Concessions Associate within the Food & Merchandise department at The Chicago Theatre is a multi-faceted position responsible for assisting our bartenders and barbacks during the shift with any operational duties required in order to reach our goal of providing outstanding customer satisfaction.
Specific duties will vary on a nightly basis. As a crucial member of our team, a Concessions Associate may be requested to work a flexible schedule inclusive of early mornings, day & evening shifts (late evenings may be required), weekends, holidays and back to back events.
All candidates must be available to work one third of the monthly show schedule. Additionally, a Concessions Associate may be assigned to an area where adverse temperature / weather conditions.
This role requires employees to stand for long periods of time and move freely throughout the property during their shift.
What will you do?
- Preparing and distributing fresh popcorn to all concession stands.
- Serving Drinks and Snacks tableside to patrons in designated seating areas.
- Pouring Beer for Bartenders at Designated times and locations.
- Assisting guests with checking their coats and various personal items upon entry to the theatre.
- Maintaining an organized workstation to ensure guest items are secure and returned in an efficient and prompt manner.
- Providing fast, professional, and courteous beverage service to guests within the auditorium.
- Setting up and maintaining organization and cleanliness of an assigned area.
- Working rapidly and remaining calm during peak periods.
- Breaking down and cleaning service bar and tables accordingly.
- Helping to set up, stock, and maintain bar areas.
- Maintain proper communication and radio etiquette over two-way radios
What do you need to succeed?
- Prior experience as a bartender, server, or barback is strongly encouraged.
- Ability to work a point of sale system with cash and credit card payments, balance a bank and cash drawer.
- Ability to multitask in a high-volume entertainment-based environment.
- All candidates must be available to work one third of all monthly scheduled events.
- Must be able to tolerate and work in a loud, fast paced environment
- Must possess outstanding communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to maintain a professional manner, presence, and appearance always while on premises / duty.
- Must have ability to multitask and be flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Be prepared to take an active role in Emergency Operations procedures (evacuation plan) through on-going training and drills.
- General computer and email proficiency are required.

Barback Chicago
Who are we hiring?
As a Warehouse Worker at the Chicago Theatre you will be responsible for setting up, maintaining and breaking down your assigned bar locations.
Anticipating the needs of Bartenders so that they can continue to serve snacks and beverages to guests in a timely and responsible manner.
Always promote positive guest / client experience and superior customer service. As a crucial member of our team, a Chicago Theatre Warehouse Worker may be requested to work a flexible schedule inclusive of early mornings, day & evening shifts (late evenings may be required), weekends, holidays and back to back events.
Additionally, a barback may be assigned to an area where adverse temperature / weather conditions may affect them. This role requires Warehouse Workers to stand for long periods of time and move freely throughout the property during their shift.
What will you do?
- Responsible for assisting in the day to day operations of the Chicago Food & Merchandise department to ensure a positive guest experience.
- Responsible for providing fast, professional and courteous service to all bartenders. Must be able to help supervisors and carry product up and down the stairs from the warehouse to the bar locations in a smooth, efficient and pleasant manner.
- Must work rapidly and remain calm during peak periods.
- Must know all bar positions and where all products is housed and ready to transport any / all product at any time when asked to do so.
- Must also break down machinery including, but not limited to popcorn machines, drink machines, and coolers.
- Responsible for setting up stock and maintain bar area to TCT.
- Ensure liquor, garnish, glasses, product, etc. are properly stored and presented. Deliver and distribute ice accordingly.
- Break down and clean bar and bar area.
- Help maintain warehouse area according to TCT standards by following Chicago Health Code.
- Conduct physical inventory, set up / break down designated work areas and maintain product levels. Oversee specific sections of the theater, insuring staff and section is show ready and guest’s needs are met.
- Respond to all escalated guest issues and determine appropriate actions to resolve problems and / or issues in a timely manner.
- Provide information to patrons and answer questions / inquiries regarding The Chicago Theatre facility.

QUALIFICATIONS :

Custodian PT - Chicago
Who are we hiring?
As a Custodian at the Chicago Theatre you will promote positive guest / client experiences during the beginning (ingress), middle of event and show departure (egress).
A Custodian’s role is responsible for continuously keeping the theatre clean before, throughout, and the end of an event.
As a crucial member of our team, a Chicago Custodian may be requested to work a flexible schedule inclusive of early mornings, day & evening shifts (late evenings may be required), weekends, holidays and back to back events.
Additionally, a Porter may be assigned to an area with adverse temperature / weather conditions such as cleaning the exterior areas of the building.
What will you do?
- Cleaning and maintaining the interior and exterior of the Chicago Theatre (i.e. all theatre levels, lobby, dressing rooms, restrooms, etc).
- Will sanitize and clean restroom facilities during and after shows (stock lavatories, wash walls, floors and disinfect restrooms).
- Buff and wax floors to maintain overall cleanliness and appearance of theatre.
- Sweep, mop, and remove trash from facility, offices and backstage areas.
- Vacuum and spot clean all carpets in the theatre and remove trash left by guests.
- Assist in special projects as assigned including specialty detail cleaning and sanitizing in all areas of the theatre.
- Be prepared to take an active role in Emergency Operations procedures (evacuation plan) through on-going training and drills.
- Assist other departments as needed.

- Current or prior maintenance / sanitary experience in a building, arena or outdoor environment.
- Must be motivated, deadline orientated with the ability to work independently to meet show schedule and load in / load out process.
