Position Summary

  • Manages and supervises the Environmental Services and floor care staff at a single site according to policies and procedures, and federal / state requirements.
  • Utilizes protective gear in all appropriate functions
  • Provides leadership, support, coordination and guidance to ensure that quality standards, inventory levels, safety guidelines and customer service expectations are met.
  • The Manager is also responsible for coordinating and insuring the satisfactory and timely completion of project and program work done in the building on varying shifts.
  • Maintains records of income and expenditures, supplies, personnel and equipment.
  • Secure and assure that all equipment is maintained and in working order.
  • Makes sure facility has sufficient janitorial supplies.
  • Takes periodic inventories of supplies and materials, trains new employees, and recommends dismissals.
  • Acts as liaison between building occupants or school personnel and HCSG staff.
  • The Manager must be able to communicate effectively all directives from managers and school personnel to HCSG staff.
  • Is able to perform the job assignments of the school custodian / floor technician.
  • Training, quality control and in-servicing staff is an essential part of the Manager's responsibility and includes touring location several times per day to assess work quality using QCIs for documentation purposes.
  • The Manager is a department head in the facility and must conduct themselves and their department in a professional manner.
  • The Manager consistently embodies the characteristics necessary to drive the Company's Purpose, Vision, Values, and DNA.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Two years' experience in Environmental Services in an school environment and personnel supervision is desired.
  • Basic computer skills preferred.
  • Must be able to fully understand and complete all In-Services.
  • Must be able to be at work on time.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to understand and place into action basic infection control procedures.
  • The ability to handle and mix chemicals safely and properly.
  • Ability to work all shifts as needed.
  • Knowledge of Environmental Services and floor care program requirements.
  • Knowledge of and ability to use all department equipment.
  • Ability to maintain records and complete reports as required.
  • Written and oral communication and teaching skills.
  • Skill in using public relations techniques (diffusing situations) to promote the Environmental Services and floor care program to client and residents.
  • Ability to interact positively with client and other personnel and the public.
  • Compliance with COVID-19 Vaccination Policies, as required by State, Local, and / or Customers.

  • Independently identifies, analyzes, and recommends engineering alternatives / designs and is able to identify and resolve complex engineering problems and develop conclusions and innovative recommendations
  • Assists with the preparation and peer review of conceptual and final designs for simple, single-phase / single-media remedial systems under the supervision of other engineers
  • Consult and collaborate work with Project Manager, Superintendent, as well as Health and Safety, Quality Control, Project Controls, Estimating, and Contracts representatives to properly plan, coordinate and ensure progress of deliverables per the approved budget and schedule
  • Select and apply appropriate environmental technologies and cost-effective solutions to remediate or remove contaminants and meet project objectives
  • Able to plan and execute moderately complex engineering projects or programs including design, contract administration, and implementation
  • Plan, prepare and issue project and field submittals within approved budget including but not limited to pre-construction plans, design documents, testing plans, analytical reports, shop drawings, field submittals, operation / maintenance reports, closure reports and as-built records
  • Apply industry standards of practice for selected technology, adhering to regulatory codes and standards, national / local standards, and company SOPs
  • Identify, address and communicate technical and operational risks relevant to the selected project approach and technology to the Project Manager
  • Participates in team project meetings
  • Take a lead role in ensuring project safety - including conducting safety Net inspections, leading safety meetings and ensuring team participant awareness

Experience / Education :

This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Management or related field from an accredited institution.

This includes a minimum of :

  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for this requirement.
  • Engineering, quality, or environmental credential (e.g., EIT, CQA, EPI) - or - PE license or ability to attain during tenure in this position
  • HAZWOPER 40 Hour Certification with current 8 Hour Refresher
  • USACE Contractor Quality Management for Contractors certification
  • A minimum of 3-6 years of experience required; two years or more of progressively responsible experience performing in-situ or ex-situ environmental systems design, field engineering support, or quality control on environmental remediation or hazardous waste management projects

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking an environmental scientist with 3-5 years of experience to assist in planning and implementing site remediation programs.

Take responsible charge for collecting field data and environmental media samples, interpreting data and preparing technical reports.

Work with a team of environmental professionals including LSRP, professional engineers, professional geologist or asbestos inspector.

We are looking for an employee to work out of either our Trevose, Conshohocken, Exton or Philadelphia, PA office or our Mt.

Laurel, NJ office. This role is flexible with a hybrid schedule.

The position will involve conducting environmental due diligence, environmental site assessments, soil and groundwater investigations, and remediation oversight and technical report preparation.

Daily activities may include site reconnaissance, oversight of soil boring and monitoring wells installations using a drill rig, collection of soil and groundwater samples, laboratory data management, and report preparation.

This position is expected to have a 40% - 60% balance between field and office work which will vary based on project needs.

The ideal candidates will have a Bachelor of Science degree in geologist, earth science, environmental science, or environmental engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting investigations related to site remediation particularly in NJ, NY, PA, DE and MD - but not limited to only these states
