As an Environmental Specialist you will support our clients by managing their hazardous waste programs & projects, utilizing state & federal regulations.

This is a labor-intensive role that requires a high-level of technical aptitude and the ability to delivery high-level customer service (which we call the WOW!)

Essential responsibilities and duties :

Technical :

• Completion of Triumvirate’s on-boarding and Safety Training Development Program
• Safety equipment inspections
• Hazardous waste inspections
• Perform and document environmental health and safety (EHS) audits for clients
• Regularly preparing chemical and biological waste for shipment and disposal, including creation of all federal / state waste documents and managing the paperwork for the material Following any applicable state and federal regulations Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) & Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations
• Develop understanding of OSHA regulations as well as Triumvirate’s Health and Safety practices
• Monthly on-call responsibilities as part of our Emergency Response team

Hands-on :

• Material handling (e.g. transportation of materials within client sites as well as from client sites to transfer and / or end disposal facilities) Safe handling of hazardous waste containers on client sites, as well as loading / unloading of waste from vehicles
• Packaging and prepping of hazardous waste for shipment
• Spill response measures, including assessment of the spills and potentially leading the cleanup efforts
• Requires you to work 40+ hours per week and overtime is frequently required

Customer service :

• Professional attitude, high energy, and high-level communication skills required when dealing directly with client representatives
• High level of expertise (e.g. state / federal regulations, EHS standards, waste management procedures, etc.) Train clients on proper chemical safety and hazardous waste management
• Attending client operations meetings
• Training of new Triumvirate team member(s)

Qualifications :

• BS / BA in Environmental Science or Business-related degree or relative Military experience preferred
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to work as a member of a team as well as an individual
• Strong communication, problem solving, and relationship building skills
• Successful completion (upon point of hire) of OSHA / DOT physical examination
• Must be able to lift 50-75 pounds
• This is a safety-sensitive position

Pay Range :

$28 per hour, not including overtime pay, benefits and a robust advancement program

Environmental Planner / Analyst

Northern California

Job Description

To support our growth in Northern California, we are seeking an Environmental Planner to contribute to the development of innovative, accurate, timely, and high-quality products and services, typically working on multiple projects with all levels of staff.

The primary duties are to prepare environmental impact analyses for a wide range of projects including land use development, transportation, infrastructure, water, and energy.

The position includes conducting research and coordinating with public and private clients, engineering partners, technical sub consultants, and regulatory / resource agencies to prepare the analyses.

The role includes working as part of a multi-disciplinary team and supporting project directors, project managers, and deputy project managers (based on the size and complexity of the project).

Key Responsibilities

Gather data, conduct research, and proficiently write impact assessments for various environmental topics (i.e., chapters in CEQA / NEPA documents).

Assist with preparation of documents, reports, presentations, technical memoranda, public notices, forms, and other work products.

Assist with public outreach activities, including presenting, as well as implementing communication strategies.

Strictly adhere to professional standards, including but not limited to demonstrated consistency and reliability, timeliness in meeting project deadlines, communicate clearly and concisely, and work responsibly on a team or independently.

Provide support to key sector clients, including interest and availability to function as on-site client staff.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or higher in environmental studies, urban planning, or related field

2+ years of professional experience in a consulting or public agency environment, working with county, city, or planning / transportation / regulatory agencies in California, or Master’s degree in environmental studies, urban planning, or related field.

Additional Skills

Knowledge and understanding of CEQA, NEPA, and other environmental principles.

Summary

• SUMMARY : Manages the implementation of the Safety, Emergency Management, and Workplace Violence plans at the facility level;
• establishes safety and health goals in collaboration with the safety program; develops & implements controls to minimize safety and occupational health hazards;
• provides site support to facilities and carries out leadership strategies and support for system-wide Environmental Health and Safety initiatives;

1. Responsible for managing the Environmental Health and Safety Program at the site level in accordance with all of The Joint Commission standards and elements of performance;

oversees Performance Improvement Process related to Environmental Health and Safety; provides on-going performance monitoring of plans, feedback, addresses problems, in-services staff and recommends ways to help develop skills.

2. Recommends language for policies and procedures that align with healthcare standards and regulatory compliance as well as regulations and standards set forth by other governing agencies.

3. Chairs the Environmental of Care (Safety) Committee at hospital sites; leads periodic review and update of the EOC Plans;

conducts employee related incidents, investigations and completes required regulatory reports.

• 4. Collaborates with appropriate staff to lead implementation of the Environment of Care (Safety) and Emergency Management Committees;
• monitors the effectiveness of changes in plans, policies and procedures; prepares reports using approved format for presentation to site Environment of Care (Safety) Committees and other committees;

develops reports containing data that allows for detection of patterns and trends for hazards.

5. Collaborates with regulatory agencies in support of the system-wide safety, emergency management, and workforce safety programs.

6. Ensures Emergency Preparedness documents are updated and changes are communicated.

7. Participates in planning emergency preparedness exercises based on system-wide goals and objectives; conducts response briefings and conducts After Action and Corrective meetings.

8. Coordinates with site facilities schedule for Environmental Rounding; reviews Rounding results with site facility leaders and makes recommendations to improve deficiencies;

compiles and summarizes relevant data for distribution to employees involved with the EOC policies.

9. Participates with Labor Relations in regular employee safety meetings, meets with facility leaders and stakeholders to develop, review, and distribute employee workplace safety reports and information to all AHS campuses;

using available data to analyze trends, generate reports, and compare employee safety outcomes.

• 10. Follows up with leaders after reports of employee injuries to ensure injured employees are directed to the correct Workers Compensation Program representative;
• in collaboration with Manager, Disability Programs, communicates with staff and / or supervisors regarding the need to complete online or paper reports;

works with department leaders to recommend and institute best practices to prevent employee-related injuries.

11. Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

Required Education : Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university with coursework in engineering, industrial arts, occupational health and safety, fire science or a related field.

Preferred Education : Masters degree.

Required Experience : Four years of safety, regulatory and emergency management experience in coordinating and managing program activities.

Preferred Experience : Experience within a Public Health, Public Administration or First Responder environment.

Required Licenses / Certifications : N / A

Preferred Licenses / Certifications : Licensed Safety Professional (LSP), Certified Environmental Professional (CEP), Certified Safety Director (CSD), Certified Safety Manager (CSM), Certified Environmental Director (CED), Certified Environmental Manager (CEM), and any other OSHA certificates or professional Fellows statuses in the field.

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.

Position Overview :

According to established procedures, cleans building areas and equipment. Moves furniture, equipment and supplies. Removes and transports municipal solid waste, medical waste, and soiled linen.

Performs these duties to maintain the hospital in a neat, orderly and sanitary condition.
