GEICO Staff Counsel - Law Office of Davis S. Dougherty located in Tampa, FL, is seeking an attorney to defend PIP lawsuits filed in Florida courts and other first-party insurance defense matters.
Responsibilities :
- Conducting legal research and drafting legal briefs, opinions, and memoranda.
- Providing opinions on liability, damages, and value as requested by the Claims Department.
- Preparing and handling pleadings, motions, and discovery, including depositions / examinations before trial and examinations under oath, and defending by trial or dispositive hearing, all matters assigned, as applicable.
- Travelling as required, including to attend trials, hearings, depositions, management meetings, and conferences.
Qualifications :
- 0-3 years of experience in related field REQUIRED
- Juris Doctor degree REQUIRED
- Admission to the Florida Bar REQUIRED
- Must be licensed in good standing to practice law in Florida and meet and maintain licensing requirements including mandatory Continuing Legal Education (CLE) requirements where applicable
- Must be able to travel as required, including but not limited, to attend trials, hearings, depositions, management meetings and conferences
- Must be able to document files in a clear, concise, professional written manner, to be understood by customers, clients, co-workers and other employees of the organization
- Must be able to follow complex instructions, resolve conflicts or facilitate conflict resolution, and have strong organization / priority setting and multi-tasking skills
- Must be able to learn and apply large amounts of technical and procedural information

- Must be able to communicate in a professional manner in person, via telephone and written correspondence / email

Position Summary :
Our team is currently looking for an experienced Fleet Technician to maintain our commitment to safety and customer service.
In this role, the successful candidate will perform truck repair and maintenance work in accordance with factory and industry standards, run diagnostics on vehicles and work closely with other team members to meet company goals.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities :
Performs minor and major repairs on trucks and trailers.
Conducts regular preventative maintenance on service trucks, including inspection, tire rotation and oil changes.
Collaborates with repair team to diagnose problems with vehicles and plan repairs.
Maintains accurate records of each repair performed on vehicles.
Responsible for repairing, modifying and performing preventative maintenance on applicable fleet vehicles.
Responsible for all maintenance to the operation of equipment by completing all required preventive maintenance requirements.
Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical malfunctions.
Inspects fleet vehicles to ensure that all vehicles are DOT compliant including brake maintenance.
Completes all required daily reporting as required.
Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level.
Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Adheres to strict safe work practices to comply with all Company, DOT and OSHA regulations.
