Electrician
A Licensed or Non-Licensed Electrician installs basic electrical equipment and systems in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards.
You will be responsible for :
Assembling, installing, testing, and maintaining electrical or electronic wiring, conduit, cable, equipment, components and devices associated with electrical equipment, following blueprints of electrical layouts and building plans.
Installing and mounting electronic controls, device, panels, sensors, and components.
Performing interlock wiring as required.
Testing electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices.
Inspecting installation sites and studying work orders, building plans, and installation manuals in order to determine materials requirements and installation procedures.
Diagnosing malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
Reading contract drawings.
Trouble shooting EMS systems, smart breakers, and relays.
Qualifications / Skills Sets / Expectations :
Four (4) years of experience working in the electrical industry. High School diploma or GED required.
Must successfully pass a background check and drug test

Physical Abilities :
Lifts at least 100 pounds at one time and 60 pounds for an extended period of time.
Relocates a 12 foot stepladder without assistance.
Works at various heights up to 60 feet and can climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks and all types of ladders.
Walks, climbs, lifts, squats, crawls, kneels, pushes, pulls and reaches overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.
Possess good vision (may be corrected vision), the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English.
May use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools.

ELECTRICIAN
Job Details
The Electrician is responsible for all electrical systems onboard including but not limited to; power generation systems, power distribution systems, engine room systems, fish processing systems, hotel systems, bridge systems and deck systems.
REPORTS TO : Chief Engineer and Port Engineer
WORK HOURS : Regularly scheduled for 12 hour shifts, may be required to work additional hours due to occasional urgent vessel needs.
Shipyard duties to be fulfilled as required or assigned.
LICENSE : Coast Guard License is not required but is considered a plus.
JOB DESCRIPTION : The position is responsible for all electrical systems onboard including but not limited to; power generation systems, power distribution systems, engine room systems, fish processing systems, hotel systems, bridge systems and deck systems.
- Troubleshoots electrical issues with equipment, gives recommendation for resolution
- Repairs or replaces wiring equipment or fixtures, using hand and power tools.
- Examines electrical system of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures using testing devices like ohmmeters, voltmeters or oscilloscopes to confirm compatibility and safety of system.
- Demonstrates competency working with and troubleshooting PLC systems
- Works directly with Chief Engineer to ensure that all electrical systems are operational and safe for all personnel.
- Inspects electrical systems, equipment or parts to spot hazards, defects or the necessity for adjustment or repair and to confirm compliance with applicable codes.
- Diagnoses faulty systems, apparatus or parts using equipment and hand tools to find the reason for a breakdown and correct the problem.
- Places conduit within selected partitions, walls or alternative areas and pull insulated wires or cables through to finish circuits between boxes.
- Demonstrates competence in managing Lock Out / Tags Plus and energy isolation procedures
- Works with the Chief Engineer in order to keep the electrical systems in compliance with all regulatory and classification regulations.
This includes , DNV, FCC, OSHA.
- Performs routine and annual maintenance of all electrical systems based on manufacture recommendations.
- Directs and trains other engineering staff to put in, maintain or repair electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures.
- Ensures compliance with applicable sections of the Safety Management System. Is knowledgeable and conversant on applicable policies and procedures contained in the SMS
- Maintains electrical parts list and inventory, orders supplies through Chief Engineer.
- Maintains workshop, work areas and supplies in orderly fashion in compliance with regulatory standards.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Associates or technical degree preferred.
- Journeyman or Master Electrician License preferred.
- 3+ years of experience as a Marine Electrician on a vessel or in a shipyard environment preferred.
- 1+ year of experience as journeyman level electrician.
- Experience operating and troubleshooting electrical systems.
- Knowledge of factory trawler electrical equipment and sequential automated processing.
- Strong understanding of switchboards, power generators, PLCs and controls and navigation electronic equipment preferred.
- Proficient computer skills including MS Suite.
- Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and percentages.
- Able to communicate effective in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Able to understand and execute complex oral and written instructions.
- Strong attention to detail.
- A self-starter who is motivated and able to meet operation deadlines.
- Able to interact with vendors and company representatives in a businesslike manner.
- Ability to effectively troubleshoot equipment or process failures and apply solutions.

Electrician- Commercial Construction

Essential Duties :
- Electrician is responsible for installations and repairs of electrical systems
- The worker will report potentially unsafe conditions and use equipment and materials properly
- Plans layout, apparatus, and control equipment, such as switches, installs, repairs wiring, electrical fixtures, relays, and circuit-breaker panels, fastening in place with screws or bolts, using hand tools and power tools.
- Install, maintain, modify and repair all electrical distribution systems and associated electrical equipment
- Remain in compliance with current National Electric Code
- Inspect and test components of electrical systems, including transformers, transfer switches and switches gears
- Identify electrical problems with a variety of testing devices
Qualification :
- High School Diploma or equivalent required*
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as an electrician
- At least 3 years minimum experience working with commercial electrical systems
- Must have valid driver’s license
- Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the role and use other materials required for repair or installation.
