Responsibilities
- Assist Management in scheduling maintenance projects, work with contractors as needed, maintain accurate, and complete departmental records
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, construction drawings, machine manuals, electrical blueprints / electrical schematics required
- Ensure equipment adheres to all applicable safety requirements, test electrical systems and continuity of circuts in electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, oscilloscopes, to ensure compatiability, and safety of systems
- Capable of accurately using measuring instruments, basic ability to work with a windows based computer system, work with electrical circuits including 24 v.
controls, 120-240v and 208-480v, single, and three phase service
- Install and troubleshoot all systems including single or 3 phase,120volts to 480 volts. Install conduit and conduit support, pull wires, and feeder cables, terminations, install panels, switchgear, transformers
- Experience in conduit bending, wire pulling, and terminations, circuitry layout. Working knowledge of NEC and troubleshooting skills.
Capable of using programmable logic controllers to troubleshoot and repair equipment
- Perform established preventative maintenance programs.
- Assist with all aspects of new equipment installation.
- Prepare requisitions for parts and other equipment.
- Ability to communicate effectively with supervision, engineers, and subordiante electricians.
- Must provide your own basic tools and testing equipment.
- Ensure all equipment adheres to all applicable safety requirements.
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain good housekeeping standards.
- Periodic overtime, which includes working weekends.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Must be licensed as a Journeyman or have 10+ years of experience with troubleshooting and reporair of electronic controls such as PLC's, VFD, Soft Starts, and Internet Communication Hardware.
- 5+ years of experience with PLC systems, preferably Allen Bradley, Siemens, and Direct logic.
- 5 + years of experience with DC drives, servos, solenoids, photo eyes, relays, limit switches and electric motors.
- 5+ years of manufacturing electrical experience is required.
- Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Must be able to read and or understand written and verbal policy, instruction and directions in English
- Ability to multitask and work as a team

The Electrician Helper position is located in South Houston, in the Greater Hobby area.
Responsibilities of the Electrician Helper include, but are not limited to :
- The Electrician Helper is responsible for assisting electricians by performing tasks of on-the-job
- training under the supervision of a Journeyman or Master Electrician installing the work, acquiring the skills and
- knowledge of the trade and become a Journeyman Electrician.
- Attend job-related education instruction a minimum of one night per week for four hours.
- Work will consist of installation, maintaining, alternations, additions and / or repairs of or, extending electrical systems, conductors and associated materials equipment within the commercial, industrial, and residential
premises within the electrical industry.
- A minimum of 2,000 hours of on-the-job training is required in each year of Apprenticeship with a minimum 8,000 hours of on-the-job training to complete the program.
- Must attend a minimum of 144 hours of job related education instruction in each year of Apprenticeship training
- maintain a minimum passing grade of 70%. There is a minimum of 576 hours of job related education instruction to complete the program.
- Apprenticeship is a four year commitment. (Min. 8000 on-job-training / Min. 576 classroom hours.

Job Summary :
In a safe, efficient, and professional manner the Electrician is responsible for delivering effective, efficient, and timely delivery of the Company’s line of services to multiple customers within an assigned geographic territory.
Is provided a company van and tools and travels to a variety of customer sites to maintain commercial properties. Performs preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on buildings, equipment and grounds Conducts face to face relationship with Customers in the service of the client’s requirements.
Utilizes multiple trade skills such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, and roofing, HVAC, and other skills as needed to solve maintenance problems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Completes preventative maintenance and repairs per work order requirements. Self performs the following duties in compliance company procedures, regulatory requirements and safety standards.
- Performs electrical maintenance (e.g. replace disconnects, replace breakers, add new circuits, troubleshoot electrical controls, etc.).
- Performs minor plumbing maintenance on existing systems (e.g. unclog toilets and drains, repair leaks in drains and faucets, replace toilets and faucet fixtures as needed, etc.).
- Performs routine painting, carpentry work, etc., as necessary to maintain our Client’s facilities in like new condition (e.
g. repair a hole in dry-wall, prep the area, and match the paint to present a uniform and original like new appearance).
Completes service inspections and asset inspections as needed.
Fully utilizes technology (tablet, smartphone) to :
Access and complete work orders including notes on services provided.Create and submit Service Reports and Quality Inspection images and reports.
Submit timesheets, expense reports, and purchase card logs.
- Obtains necessary materials and supplies to complete all tasks.
- Creates a positive climate with the client, provides and generates customer satisfaction. Maintains timely and consistent communications with customer and internal support teams.
- Obtains and completes EFS required safety and compliance training and attends weekly safety meetings.
- Provides estimates for larger projects and services needed to onsite customer.
- Completes other duties as assigned or required.
Qualifications :
- HS diploma or Degree / Certification, or equivalent professional experience in Landscaping, Trades (Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, etc), or Specialty Floor Care, preferred.
- Two to five years mechanical experience, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry required; or equivalent combination of training, education, and experience.
Any combination of education, training, and experience which demonstrates ability to perform the duties and responsibilities as described including related work experience in one or more of the building trades.
Knowledge of reading wiring diagrams and electrical schematics. Past background in the landscape, janitorial or construction-related services industries highly preferred.
- Must possess applicable certifications, licenses, and valid driver’s license in good standing.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions including, but not limited to, safety policies and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in individual and small group situations.
Complete assigned work orders in a timely manner and communicate work order status via designated business process.
Ability to use and operate handheld device and business systems or document management Database software, including but not limited to Microsoft office, Lotus Notes, MS office (word, Excel).
Comply with all applicable codes, regulation, governmental agency and Company directives related to building operations and work safety.
Performs assigned day-to-day repairs, emergency and preventive maintenance.
- Maintain adequate knowledge of and comply with OSHA (Occupational Safety & Health Act) standards and Company safety policies at all times.

Duties :
- The safe and efficient operation and maintenance of all electrical plant and equipment onboard.
- Administration of the planned maintenance system of the electrical plant.
- Carrying out regular inspections of all electrical power management systems, switchgear, motors, batteries etc. to conform to standards of operation and maintenance.
- Ensuring that the Chief Engineer and Engineers are kept fully informed of all electrical activities and developments and that no major repair or maintenance to the electrical plant is carried out without the approval of the Chief Engineer and Engineer on Watch.
- Ensuring electrical plant is managed to achieve maximum efficiency and reliability.
- Exercising control over ordering electrical spares and consumables ensuring critical spares are maintained at appropriate levels.
- Maintaining adequate machinery records and compiling reports for Management and Class Societies as required.
- Ensuring that all electrical records, manuals and technical drawings are updated and maintained correctly.
- Technical reports concerning maintenance, repairs and breakdowns of electrical equipment as required.
- Ensuring that other crewmembers and subcontractor personnel working under his direction act in a safe and responsible manner.
- Performing emergency duties in accordance with the vessel’s Muster List / Station Bill.
- Ensuring that the daily activities within the electrical engineering department are carried out in a safe and efficient manner and that the impact of the electrical engineering department operations on the environment are within acceptable limits.
- Arrange and conduct regular safety inspections of electrical machinery and power management systems and power management spaces.
- Participating as a member of the Vessel Safety Committee if so elected.
- Ensuring adequate safe systems of work are adopted for all activities within the electrical engineering department and that all relevant safety regulations and procedures are adopted.
- Coordination of work permits within his area of jurisdiction (this may be in consultation with the Chief Engineer / Master / Chief Officer).
Qualifications :
- Education : Qualification requirements are contained in the Qualifications & Training Matrix appropriate to each vessel.
- Experience : Minimum 2 years experience as ship's electrician.
- Skills : Fluent in both verbal and written English. Computer literate.
