Purpose
Perform journey level work in the installation, maintenance, repair and service of electrical systems.
Responsibilities
Install electrical panels, circuits, lighting fixtures, outlets, conduit, transformers and various laboratory equipment.
Replacement and retro fitting of lamps and fixtures.
Troubleshoots, maintains, repairs, installs and replaces building and electrical equipment at ARL and LTTS.
Providing electrical support for various research projects.
Assist other trades and other related functions as assigned.
Required Qualifications
High school graduation or GED.
Three years of experience as a journey level electrician.
Three years of experience troubleshooting electrical systems.
Applicant must have a dynamic skill set, willing to work with new technologies, be highly organized and capable of planning and coordinating multiple tasks and managing their time.
The position will require attention to detail, effective problem solving skills and excellent judgment. Ability to work independently with sensitive and confidential information, maintain a professional demeanor, work as a team member without daily supervision and effectively communicate with diverse groups of clients.
Able to work under pressure and accept supervision. Regular and punctual attendance.

Preferred Qualifications
Associates degree or graduation from vocational or technical training related to electrical trade.
More than three years of journey-level experience as a commercial or industrial electrician with emphasis on interior renovations, including installation of rigid, EMT, and flexible conduit.
Licensed as a Master Electrician.
Demonstrated ability to produce quality work from project drawings, specifications, construction standards, or written-verbal instructions with or without direct supervision.

Responsibilities :
- Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, apparatus, and fixtures.
- Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
- Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.

- Works closely with other departments to ensure the proper transfer of all service work business data.
- Inspection of area for cleanliness after job completion respecting the customer’s property.

Qualifications :
- Must have a minimum of 3 years of verifiable experience as an electrician in a residential service and maintenance operation.
- GED or High School Diploma.
- Associate degree in related field preferred.
- Basic math and reading comprehension.
- Knowledge of electrical field concepts, practices, best practices, and procedures including the technical ability to understand and interpret Electrical Codes, Life Safety Codes, NFPA, Uniform Building Codes and Lighting Systems.
