Job Description :
We are currently seeking safety minded, team-oriented Electricians to be a part of small teams at remote job sites. The work includes installing conduit, communications cable, three phase power wires, smart meters, CTs (current transformer), and conducting electrical outages.
This position supports military installations around the United States. Transportation, travel expenses, lodging and per diem will be provided.
REQUIREMENTS :
- 3+ years of electrical experience in a commercial, industrial, or military construction environment
- 3+ years of safety experience
- Must be willing to travel 100% throughout the United States and its territories.
- Valid driver license and ability to pass a motor vehicle record check required.
- Ability to obtain / maintain access to military base.
- US Citizenship required.

Production Electrician
The Sands College of Performing Arts (PPA) is seeking an experienced Production Electrician to work in the theatrical and academic facilities of PPA, supporting production and classroom needs.
The Production Electrician assists the Production Manager and production staff in providing support for the PPA Mainstage Productions, student events, and to ensure all PPA theatrical equipment is maintained and operational. Position Duties
- Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of PPA theatrical lighting, audio, video and electrical equipment for all PPA venues and spaces, in coordination with the Sound Engineer.
- Responsible for maintaining inventory of all electrical shop tools and equipment in a manner consistent with all safety regulations and company policies.
- Ensure the maintenance of a clean and safe electrics shop environment.
- Assist the production staff in the preparations, load-ins, focus, notes and strikes of all PPA Mainstage Productions, which includes plays, musicals, dance concerts, devised work and film production.
- Coordinate, plan, budget, maintain and implement all lighting needs for Mainstage Productions, as well as project needs in collaboration with Sound Engineer.
- Work with student designers to execute light plots and rental needs within a fixed budget.
- Determine the most efficient way to hang and focus lights from show to show.
- Purchase consumables (lamps, gel, fluids, etc) as necessary for Mainstage Productions, with the designers to suggest substitutions as appropriate.
- In collaboration with the designers, generate and maintain all necessary paperwork.
- Organize, coordinate, supervise and / or train all student stagehands as necessary, and provide guidance and feedback to students to promote academic success.
This responsibility includes but is not limited to : electrical wiring practices, safety practices, hang and focus techniques, paperwork creation, console programming, networking, and team leadership.
- Organize, coordinate, and supervise all department electrical crew calls, including instructional staff, overhires and union labor (when applicable).
- Manage all lighting budgets in collaboration with production management.
- Plan, research and engineer lighting practicals, special effects and special projects, in collaboration with student designers and technicians.
- Coordinate load-in, technical rehearsal notes, performance notes and strike so they are completed in a timely manner in coordination with the other production departments.
- Collaborate with fellow production shop heads to ensure efficient and safe day-to-day operations.
- Performs other such duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Position Qualifications
- BS / BA / BFA required.
- At least 3 years of experience in technical theatre or a related field or equivalent experience with degree. Without the degree, 8 years of experience may be considered.
- Experience with technical theater equipment and maintenance including audio, lighting, projection and video equipment.
- Experience with operating and programming EOS, Vectorworks, Lightwright, LED Fixtures, Moving Lights, QLab, and AVID software or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of fundamental rigging, theatrical electrics and theatrical video technologies.
- Professional attitude toward customer service and effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to read and comprehend stage plots, electrical diagrams and light and sound plots.
- Experience working with and leading student and union stagehands in a University setting is a plus.
- OSHA-10 and OSHA-30 Certified is a plus.
- Willingness to learn new techniques and methods in a given field.
- Valid Driver’s License : ability to drive a 14’ box truck and cargo van are preferred.
Work Hours This is a 12-month position (days and times vary depending on production calendar during the academic year). Work hours must be discussed with head of PPA and Production Manager.
There may be specific predetermined projects during the summer months. Salary Range $70K-80K

We are looking for qualified candidates that resides in the Utica, NY area. The employee will be provided a company truck and would be dispatched from their home to various sites in their region.
Responsibilities
- Recognizes safety hazards and follows safety guidelines for personal protection, protection of fellow workers and the protection of the public;
- Reads and interprets instruction manuals, blueprints and control system drawings; applies knowledge to daily tasks under the supervision of the field supervisors and operations manager;
- Completes written and electronic records (i.e. work orders, calibration sheets, time cards, material requests) required to document the work in progress and as it is completed;
- Repair, test, troubleshoot, inspect; and install, remove and maintain solar site equipment such as solar panels, inverters, transformers, breakers, switchgear, and SCADA equipment under the supervision of the field supervisors and operations manager;
Supervise and train apprentice electricians / coworkers to teach proper, safe use of tools and maintenance procedures; and
Perform other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications :
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Two years of industrial electric / electronic maintenance experience in the repair, inspection, testing, installation and / or maintenance of related electrical / electronic equipment.
Additional Qualifications :
Knowledge of electricity, voltage and current relationships for both AC and DC circuits.
Knowledge of Solar PV a plus.
Knowledge of Battery Storage a plus.
Valid Drivers' License in good standing, issued by state of residence.
Ability to successfully complete position training and testing requirements.
Ability to push, pull, bend, stand, stoop, lift, carry, reach, climb, hear, see, and work on ladders for extended periods of time with hands and arms at heights to install and troubleshoot equipment.
