Gannett Publishing Services located in Cherry Hill at The Courier Post is recruiting for part-time Drivers to work on an as need basis (7.
5-19 hours per week). This individual will drive a mix of vehicles ranging from Cargo Vans to 28 ft. box trucks. The position involves loading and pallets and delivering items to Distribution Centers, drop locations, and retail outlets.
Schedule can include varied days, hours, and shifts from week to week including weekends and holidays as needed.
Duties :
- Responsible for delivery of daily and non-daily products to Distribution Centers, drop locations, carriers, and retailers.
- Load and unload trucks containing various print publications on carts and pallets.
- Complete required vehicle documentation.
- Inspect and maintain vehicles ensuring they are in good and safe condition.
- Help coordinate overall warehouse, press & packaging material handling operations.
- Inspect, operate and maintain forklifts, clamp trucks, vans, pick-up trucks, box trucks & trailers including verification that all equipment safety features are installed and properly functioning.
- Load, unload, inspect & stage newsprint, preprints, commercial print products, and other materials
Requirements :
Valid Commercial Driver’s License, ability to drive 28ft box trucks, satisfactory motor vehicle record. Good time management skills.
Good communication skills. Minimum age requirement of 18 years of age. Mechanical aptitude preferred. Must be able to push and pull carts loaded with newspapers weighing up to 1000 pounds and repetitively lift newspaper bundles weighing between 10-25 pounds.

The successful Ambulance Driver functions as driver of an ambulance in the pre-hospital / inter-facility setting on BLS transports.

- Maintain compliance with all applicable protocols for transportation as per company policy.
- Complete all required documentation in a timely and thorough manner.

- Complete vehicle inspection at the start of each shift.
- Assist EMS staff with positioning patients on the stretcher including loading and unloading into the ambulance.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS :

General Statement :
The Driver / Transportation Coordinator will operate agency-owned or leased vehicles on behalf of the agency. The position involves transportation of clients and staff to necessary appointments or meetings, delivery of interagency mail to appropriate offices, and delivery of packages or letters to specified locations.
The Driver will also check the condition of vehicles for cleanliness or any damage to vehicles.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Transport agency clients and staff to necessary appointments
- Pickup and delivery of interoffice mail between agency offices.
- Transport IOC Case Managers and Case Aides and clients to required appointments outside of the local area when no other means of transportation is available.
- Move vehicles between administrative headquarters and offsite locations when necessary.
- Inspect agency vehicles for any damage or cleanliness issues, and to report any issues found to the AP Coordinator.
- Clean the vehicle interiors when conditions warrant.
- Wash the vehicle exteriors at the designated washing area.
- Refuel vehicles.
- Respond to vehicle emergencies when the private mechanic is unavailable.
- Ability to perform minor vehicle repairs, such as changing a flat tire.
- Assist with pickup of packages or supplies from vendors, retailers, or donors.
- Act as backup to the daytime Driver / Transportation Coordinator when necessary.

Lead Driver
- Assist Transportation Manager as directed with day-to-day operations.
- Review and manage all assigned routing to ensure that deliveries meet customer needs and are cost-effective.
- Evaluate and solicit input from drivers regarding routing to decrease overtime and improve customer satisfaction.
- Assist TM with driver training, skills development and performance; create and maintain current effective cross-trainings and safety meeting plans to improve drivers’ skills on all equipment.
