A Day In The Shack
Every day has a different flavor as you work for The Crack Shack . Sometimes, your job will be to clean and sanitize dishes so that Cooks have the supplies they need to prepare food and serve mouth-watering Jidori chicken and Fries.

Dishwashers are responsible for washing and sanitizing all food service utensils and miscellaneous items such as plates, silverware, glassware, pots, pans, etc.
Also responsible for assisting in maintaining the cleanliness of the back of house area. May have additional cleaning duties specific to the restaurant.
Essential Functions
- Operate and utilize the dish machine and cleaning supplies
- Wash, sanitize and dry all kitchen utensils, equipment and other items placed in the dish area or as requested by Management and Staff
- Available to work a variety of hours, days and shifts, including weekends
- Safely and effectively use and operate all necessary tools and equipment
- Ability to effectively communicate in order to perform and follow job requirements in written and spoken direction
- Multitask calmly and effectively under pressure
- Work in a confined, crowded space of variable noise and temperature levels
- Able to move and lift up to 10 pounds, frequently move and / or lift up to 25 pounds, and occasionally move and / or lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand and walk for an entire shift and move safely through all areas of the restaurant, which may include stairs, uneven or slick surfaces
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Maintain a pace sufficient to prevent back up of dirty dishes, glasses, etc.
- Return and restock all items to appropriate area after washing and sanitizing procedures are completed
- Ability to read a thermometer
- Maintain dishwashing machinery and communicate any potential issues to Management
- Identify cleaning supplies and notify Management when running low
- Assist with general cleanliness of the back of house and restrooms
- Empty garbage (checking for restaurant supplies) and keep garbage areas clean and covered
- Comply with all safety and sanitation guidelines and procedures
- Follow all rules, policies, procedures and conditions of employment, including those outlined in the Employee Handbook
- Get along well with others and be a team player

DISHWASHER (UNION)
Job Overview
The Dishwasher / Pot washer manually or mechanically washes and rinses dishes, pots, glasses, silverware and other kitchen items.
Position is represented by a Union Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Responsibilities
Essential Duties & Job Functions :
- Washes dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, or pans, using industrial dish machines or by hand.
- Monitors water tank temperatures.
- Disassembles and cleans dishwasher, pulper, drive belts, and conveyors then reassembles and completes operational check prior to usage.
Fills pot sinks, changes wash water when necessary and changes rinse water when necessary.
- Places clean dishes, utensils, or cooking equipment in storage area.
- Maintains proper cleaning compounds to ensure food safety and sterilization of eating, cooking and food preparation surfaces.
- Maintains kitchen work areas, equipment, or utensils in clean and orderly condition.
- Maintain a clean-as-you-go environment at all workstations.
- Performs general cleaning and straightening in the kitchen as directed. i.e. (cleaning floor grates / drains, empties trash, cleans walls and racks, mops, and sweeps etc.)
- Cleans garbage cans with water or steam.
- Sorts and removes trash, placing it in designated pickup area.
- Work hours are subject to change, may be required to spend extended periods of time away from home and work flexible hours in include weekends and holidays.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Mandatory :
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Favorable National Agency Check w / Inquiries (NACI); or the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance at the Secret level or Top-Secret Level, as applicable to the position / location requirements.
- Ability to successfully pass any background checks and / or drug testing required on the contract.
- Valid state driver’s license with acceptable driving record is not require but recommended.
- U.S. Citizenship.
