JOB SUMMARY :

Due to organizational growth Medline is hiring a Local Delivery Driver out of our Paulsboro, NJ location The Delivery Driver is responsible for operating a parcel van and / or straight truck to transport life-saving medical products to our local customers.

The Delivery Driver plays a critical role in building positive relationships with our customers by ensuring timely, accurate, and safe deliveries.

CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Load and secure product from the Medline Facility into a parcel van and / or straight truck.
• Safely operate a parcel van and / or straight truck between the Medline Facility and multiple customer destinations on a delivery route.

Abide by Medline’s safety regulations, including wearing safety equipment where needed, performing safety checks, etc.

• Unload and deliver products at our customer facilities, ensuring timely deliveries.
• Provide in-person support to the customer addressing their questions and needs and providing appropriate documentation upon delivery.
• Communicate with dispatching team regarding necessary adjustments to delivery route or schedule in order to meet customer needs and maintain safe operations.
• Maintain a travel and cargo log in accordance with Federal and State regulations and company policy.
• Perform inspection of vehicle to ensure safe operation and sufficient fuel levels for continued vehicle use.

Summary of Position :

The primary function of a Steven Kempf Building Materials (Capitol Building Supply, Inc.) delivery driver is to safely and efficiently operate a commercial motor vehicle in compliance with company policies along with Federal and State regulations and delivers all freight undamaged.

Work as a team player to deliver, load / unload materials while providing a world class customer service experience.

Duties & Responsibilities :

• Inspect truck / trailer for defects for safe operation
• Safely load building materials onto flatbed or boom truck and unload products at commercial and residential job sites
• Deliver materials to assigned area as directed by the customer while prioritizing personal safety and the safety of those around you
• Maintain records required for compliance with State and Federal regulations
• Must report all accidents involving driver or company equipment
• Stamina to lift heavy building materials up to 100+ lbs. for load / unload
• Excellent customer service skills and professional attitude

• Communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing to coworkers and customers

Basic Qualifications :

• High School diploma or GED
• Must have a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL)
• Minimum Class B License, Class A strongly preferred
• Must have a clear three (3) year Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)
• Must have overall knowledge of Department of Transportation regulations

Physical Demands :

• Must be able to remain in stationary position while driving commercial vehicle 40%
• Must be able to lift heavy building materials up to 80 lbs. for load / unload
• Constantly, moving from unloading materials from commercial motor vehicle onto job site
• Constantly, operates commercial motor vehicle and / or boom vehicle
• Constantly, positions self to unload materials from flatbed or boom
• Must be able to judge distance while delivering materials and / or operating boom
• Frequently moves materials weighing up to 80lbs while unloading flatbed
• Must be able to communicate with management and coworkers and be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
• Constantly working in outside environment while making deliveries

RESPONSIBILITIES

Transport deliveries to customers via CDL 26’ straight’ truck

Be a safe and courteous driver in accordance with CBW, CSA and DOT policies and regulations

Unload trucks using hand cart / pallet jack in the appropriate areas designated by our customers

Maintain organization of products in the box of the truck to prevent injury and damage toproduct

Responsible for pre and post trip vehicle inspections as well as submitting a DVCR (Driver Vehicle Condition Report) daily

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A WAREHOUSE / DELIVERY DRIVER

In this position, you spend most of your time tracking inventory, receiving materials, verifying accuracy, loading equipment, organizing the warehouse, and preparing job materials to support our HVAC service & installation processes.

You also play an important role in our organization and act as a hub in between the office and our technicians to keep workflow moving.

QUALIFICATIONS
