Overview
The OHSU Center for Hematologic Malignancies (CHM) Bone Marrow Transplant Registry directly supports the OHSU Bone Marrow Transplant clinical program by meeting data reporting obligations to the Center for International Blood and Marrow Research (CIBMTR) as part of the Stem Cell Therapeutic Outcomes Database (SCTOD), and to the Northwest Marrow Transplant Program (NWMTP).
The Bone Marrow Transplant Research Data Analyst 1 is responsible for the identification, preparation and submission of hematopoietic stem cell transplant-related data gathered from medical chart review from referring providers, querying of program physicians, and OHSU electronic medical records.
Position assists with internal audits of data to ensure accuracy and completeness of data submissions. Position may assist with data analyses and transplant research-related activities.
Must be able to travel to all Knight worksite locations, including travel via the tram. Must be comfortable consenting patients seen in the CHM clinic and in-patient floor.
In addition, must be comfortable handling and shipping biological specimens. Occasional weekend work and changes to typical working schedule may be necessary to meet deadlines.

2. Data Abstraction and Forms Completion
This position will include understanding the basic knowledge of transplant, disease testing and transplant outcomes as well as an increasing functional knowledge of at least 3 major core diseases.
Completed forms will be in training audit by more senior staff. The need for training audit will decrease with increasing competency, accuracy and rate in forms completionMedical chart review and abstraction of data : CHM is a Research Center as designated by the CIBMTR as part of SCTOD (Stem Cell Therapeutics Outcomes Database).
In order to fulfill the responsibilities of the CIBMTR, FACT, NMDP and NWMTP, registry coordinators will review and abstract data from the medical record primarily in the following subject areas for autologous, related and unrelated transplant patients : diagnosis and medical history, transplant and baseline data and post-transplant complications including graft-versus-host disease, relapse of malignancy and organ toxicity and infection.
Understanding of how to identify adequate source documentation in the EMR and referring provider medical records are essential to accurate completion of CIBMTR forms.
This position has some oversight of forms completion by more senior staff while learning how to how address routine issues and inconsistencies between the medical record, source and data required for forms completion.
Data entry reported on the CIBMTR forms will be required for CIBMTR’s database and for the transplant internal database.This position will work with the registry manager as well as other members of the registry team to collectively meet CIBMTR and NWMTP deadlines each month
3. Data Reporting
The NWMTP reporting is based on the data provided and reported to CIBMTR. This position will be involved in contributing to the many data reports required by the NWMTP committee and will assist the Team Lead or other designee of the registry team to provide the data required per NWMTP each month.
Data reports include but are not limited to internal audits of forms and database, SAE review, Mortality reports, clinical indicators etc )
4. Participate in meetings, setting meeting agendas and leading weekly huddles or team meetings
5. Contribute to process improvement efforts as defined by the Team Lead and / or Manager. Support the senior team members and Manager in administrative Registry or Program related tasks
6. Contribute / Lead Quality Improvement projects set forth by the Manager, Clinical Data Quality
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in relevant field OR
- Bachelor's in relevant field AND 2 years of relevant experience

Position Overview : Provide assistance in administering analytic support related to value based payments, financial modeling for provider contracting, support of large employer RFP, large employer and ASO, state and / or federally mandated reporting and analyses.
The role will also support the provider settlement process for a variety of value based payment arrangements; collaborate with level 2, 3 and 4 analysts and analytics management in coordination of projects with multiple departments in supporting contractually required monthly reporting in a timely, accurate and easy to understand format for external provider audiences.
Additional tasks may include assisting with components of validating data used in the settlement and payment processes; initiating documentation and processes;
and provide support to the VBP team in monthly reporting, annual model building and reconciliation processes.
Essential Responsibilities :
- Assist in providing essential data support and coordination activities for various business critical analysis and reporting needs.
- Perform data extraction to meet project requirements as directed. This would include cleaning, transformation and pre-processing data using software programs such as t-SQL, SAS, etc.
- Support the development of data visualization solutions that allow customer to interact with the data using data visualization software solutions such as Tableau or Microsoft Power BI.
- Complete entry-level calculations and analysis of value based payment terms including development of reports, running of monthly report processes as well as reporting to support financial reconciliation processes.
- Support presentation of complex data, analysis and findings to teams in a way that is clear and understandable.
- Contribute to and initiate development and maintenance of documentation and training materials including job aids.
- Assist in evaluating impact of business changes on risk reports specifications such as plan, benefit, network, provider configuration and payment and other operational changes in partnership with senior, non-associate level analysts and analytics management.
- Prepare assigned ad hoc analyses related to cost and utilization opportunities regarding RFP, employer groups, ASO groups and other Sales / Marketing requests.
- Assists with quality assurance adherence to ensure accuracy, completeness, and reliability of project-related information data resources and reporting initiatives such as participating in data validation projects and providing feedback on development of unit testing, error checks and validation processes.
- Develop general health insurance business content knowledge as well as specific knowledge related to assigned business areas of analytics support.

SUCCESS PROFILE
Work Experience : Prior data analytic work experience in healthcare environment preferred, but not required.
Education, Certificates, Licenses : Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, Health and Medical Economics, Public Health or similar research related field.
Knowledge : General knowledge of business principles, theories and concepts. Ability to manage workload within a team environment and with direct supervision.
Ability to deal responsibly with confidential information. General knowledge of in at least one statistical / analytical programming tools such as R, SAS, SPSS.
