Founded in 2015, the Mongan Institute is dedicated to supporting research across MGH in the areas of population and health care delivery science.

Responsibilities :

Reporting to and working closely with the Institute Director and Administrative Director , the candidate will lead the development of a new Data Management and Analytics Program (DMAP) that will support the Institute’s 13 research centers and programs.

Once established, the program will offer a range of data management and analysis services, including statistical and study design consultation, research protocol development, web-based survey development, data management plans, analysis and interpretation of data, and assistance in presenting and disseminating results.

The Manager of the Mongan Institute Data Management and Analytic Program responsibilities include strategic planning, project development and oversight :

  • Conduct a detailed comparative evaluation of data and analytics programs at comparable institutions to draw from successful frameworks.
  • Conduct a needs assessment to identify specific resources and support systems needed by the Institute’s faculty (>

130), research fellows, and medical students and undergraduate trainees.

  • Oversee the development of a DMAP-specific webpage where Mongan investigators can access resources and apply for analytic assistance.
  • Develop a business plan and budget justification for the first two years of the Program in collaboration with the Administrative Director.
  • Provide coordination and management of a developing team of analysts and data scientists.
  • Build a streamlined process for data sharing and management on a secure platform.
  • Assemble a comprehensive literature database containing guidance on all stages of research study development, implementation and dissemination.

Once the DMAP is active, the DMAP Manager will build its resource warehouse, while also serving as a senior data analyst.

As the senior analyst, the position will :

  • Provide analytic and study design assistance to the Institute’s investigators
  • Set up systems to track and record progress towards milestones on each project
  • Coordinate / support the activities of the Program data analysts
  • Coordinate and oversee consultation, data management, and data analytic requests and facilitate optimal workflow management

Qualifications

Skills and Experience Required :

  • Master’s degree or PhD in statistics, biostatistics, public health or other related social science field with strong quantitative emphasis.
  • 3+ years in a hands-on data analytics management role with experience developing analytical and / or data science methods in a research setting.
  • Experience with program design, implementation and evaluation, including process maps, root cause analyses, and conducting key informant interviews and focus groups.
  • Experience in program and project management.
  • Excellent skills with Stata, SAS, R, SPSS, Python, or similar programming languages.
  • Excellent time-management skills and experience working simultaneously on multiple projects with discrete, interdisciplinary teams.
  • Experience designing and implementing complex and innovative solutions for project workflow and data management tasks.
  • Proficient with REDCap and other web-based survey development and distribution platforms.
  • Experience creating and leading training workshops and materials.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills, with the ability to provide a writing sample.
  • Highly detail oriented, ensuring data quality and accuracy.

The Data Quality Analyst will be a member of the Information Technology team that supports the

Oversees monitoring data quality and data testing and identifies adverse events that are

Communicate with business owners when data issues occur that are likely to impact business

operations

Provides technical guidance to support process improvements through changes in practice,

standardization, or IT automation

Collaborate with colleagues inside the organization and outside the organization to diagnose

data issues and develop remediation plans

As directed, provide summary reports of data quality performance and data quality issues and

use this information to propose remediation and improvement

Provides support in testing and validation activities, including documenting test plans, creating
