Kitchen Cleaner
GENERAL SUMMARY / OVERVIEW STATEMENT :
Reports directly to Group Leader-Sanitation. Responsibilities include the operation of equipment used to clean as it relates to patients, cafeteria and the main kitchen.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Cleans dishes and equipment in a safe and sanitary manner following department policies and procedures.
Uses the following equipment : flite-type dishmachine, pot and pan machine, cart washer, powered floor cleaner, fryolator fat filter, and general cleaning equipment.
Informs supervisor of any malfunctioning equipment.
Utilizes approved cleaning agents in a safe and sanitary manner.
Works in the dishroom emptying soiled patient tray trucks, cafeteria trays, rinsing and stacking dishes, loading and unloading the dishmachine and putting clean dishes away in their designated areas.
Works in the pot and pan area rinsing, washing and sanitizing pots, pans and utensils and putting them away in their designated areas.
Works in all kitchen and cafeteria areas cleaning equipment, floors, walls, refrigerators, etc. in accordance with department standards.
Follows established policies for cleaning and sanitizing all small wares and equipment.
Disposes of trash into appropriate receptacles in a safe and sanitary manner throughout the production and other designated areas.
Make deliveries and pick-up of items upon request (ie : to and from the purchasing unit, maintenance department, etc.).
Prepares kitchen and cafeteria areas for monthly pest control inspection.
Attends meeting and inservices as scheduled.
Follows department dress code policy.
Supervises the safe and sanitary disposal of all production and cafeteria area trash and other areas upon request.
Makes deliveries and picks-up items upon request (ie : to and from the purchasing unit.)
Works in cooperation with other Group Leaders to ensure completion of employee job assignments and the safe operation of equipment.
Performs routine cleaning assignments throughout the work area.
Secures the main kitchen and cafeteria is responsible for closing doors at specified times.
Follows department dress code policy
WORKING CONDITIONS :
Works in large, commercial kitchen and public feeding cafeteria.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
Unit can be noisy and hot.
Qualifications
SKILLS / ABILITIES / COMPETENCIES REQUIRED :
Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English at a basic proficiency level and perform basic arithmetic computations, in order to measure detergent and cleaning solutions.
Bends, lifts, carries, pushes, and handles items weighing, up to 70 lbs.
Must be able to stand for 100 percent of the workday.

GENERAL SUMMARY / OVERVIEW STATEMENT :
Reports directly to the Food Production Assistant Manager of the Bakeshop. Produces bakery items and desserts following established policies, procedures and standardized recipes in accordance with patients, retail and catering needs.
Ensures that all bakeshop items meet standards for quality and portion control set by the department. Maintains safety and sanitation standards throughout the unit.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Produces bakery items and desserts as assigned following standardized recipes. Ensures acceptable food temperatures, food quality and appearance.
Weighs and measures products / recipe ingredients utilizing approved standardized equipment.
Uses the following equipment : rotary baking oven, steam-jacketed kettle, mixers, blenders, bread slicer, dough divider, pie maker , scales, etc.
Operates and maintains equipment in a safe and sanitary manner. Informs Food Production Asst. Manager for the Bakeshop of any malfunctioning equipment.
Utilizes appropriate safety equipment when handling heavy and hot equipment.
Informs Food Production Asst. Manager for the Bakeshop of food and non-food order needs.
In Asst. Manager of the Bakeshop’s absence accesses inventory of baked goods and production schedules and adjusts production and orders based on needs.
Communicates with other bakeshop staff any production and order changes
Completes inventories upon request. Rotates food supplies on a routine basis. Covers, dates and labels food appropriately.
Informs Food Production Asst. Manager for the Bakeshop of outdated, overproduced / leftovers and any discrepancies with the inventories.
Helps utilize leftovers.
Cleans and sanitizes equipment and work areas as assigned, meeting department standards.
Attends meetings and inservices as scheduled.
Works with the staff in the unit during changes brought on by food availability, staffing issues and equipment availability.
Reports pest control issues to manager.
Wrap and distribute baked goods according to unit needs and deliver to areas as requested.
Cleaning performed as needed and assigned.
Complies with local, State and Federal health regulations in regards to the cooking, holding and storing of food at appropriate temperatures and in approved containers.
Monitors time and temperature controls continuously.
Develops, tests, and evaluates new and existing recipes. Offers menu suggestions for patient, retail and catering services.
Monitors food production equipment for safety and sanitation, records equipment temperatures (ie : refrigerators
Complies and enforces local, State and Federal regulations and food handling principles.
WORKING CONDITIONS :
Work is performed in a typical institutional kitchen. Required to go in and out of refrigerated areas, lift. Must be able to lift up to 50lb.
and push / pull 100lb., stand 8 hrs.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY :
In absence of Asst. Bakeshop Manager will access and communicate production schedule and order changes as needed.
FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY : Follows standardized recipes and portioning to minimize waste and preserve hospital resources. Monitors and adjusts inventory of dry goods and bake shop items as needed.
Qualifications
SKILLS / ABILITIES / COMPETENCIES REQUIRED :
Read, write and comprehend English. Ability to count and perform basic math skills. Ability to calculate weights and measurements.
Demonstrated history of cooking skills required. Requires manual dexterity and repetitive motions. Able to decorate and write on cakes.
Qualifications :
Required : Minimum of 3 years of baking experience in high volume bakery, restaurant or institutional kitchen.
High School Diploma preferred.

in the Department of Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital is seeking a full time Senior Data Analyst to manage its Data Management and Analytic Program.
Founded in 2015, the Mongan Institute is dedicated to supporting research across MGH in the areas of population and health care delivery science.
The Institute bridges research spanning data science to delivery science, and evaluative science to implementation science including a variety of disciplines and methods such as epidemiology, predictive analytics, cost-effectiveness, health policy, decision science, health disparities, health intervention and implementation research.
The Mongan institute consists of over 130 faculty as well as research fellows, trainees, and a large staff including 13 research centers spanning population data science to health care delivery team science.
In addition to conducting state-of-the-art population and health care delivery research, the Mongan Institute provides research training and mentoring programs and includes core and affiliate faculty members within the Department of Medicine, as well as numerous clinical departments across MGH.
The Mongan Institute at Massachusetts General Hospital is a community of leading scientists and programs in population and health care delivery science dedicated to transforming health care and achieving health equity locally, nationally, and globally.
Responsibilities :
Reporting to and working closely with the Institute Director and Administrative Director , the candidate will lead the development of a new Data Management and Analytics Program (DMAP) that will support the Institute’s 13 research centers and programs.
Once established, the program will offer a range of data management and analysis services, including statistical and study design consultation, research protocol development, web-based survey development, data management plans, analysis and interpretation of data, and assistance in presenting and disseminating results.
The Manager of the Mongan Institute Data Management and Analytic Program responsibilities include strategic planning, project development and oversight :
- Conduct a detailed comparative evaluation of data and analytics programs at comparable institutions to draw from successful frameworks.
- Conduct a needs assessment to identify specific resources and support systems needed by the Institute’s faculty (>
130), research fellows, and medical students and undergraduate trainees.
- Oversee the development of a DMAP-specific webpage where Mongan investigators can access resources and apply for analytic assistance.
- Develop a business plan and budget justification for the first two years of the Program in collaboration with the Administrative Director.
- Provide coordination and management of a developing team of analysts and data scientists.
- Build a streamlined process for data sharing and management on a secure platform.
- Assemble a comprehensive literature database containing guidance on all stages of research study development, implementation and dissemination.
Once the DMAP is active, the DMAP Manager will build its resource warehouse, while also serving as a senior data analyst.
As the senior analyst, the position will :
- Provide analytic and study design assistance to the Institute’s investigators
- Set up systems to track and record progress towards milestones on each project
- Coordinate / support the activities of the Program data analysts
- Coordinate and oversee consultation, data management, and data analytic requests and facilitate optimal workflow management
Qualifications
Skills and Experience Required :
- Master’s degree or PhD in statistics, biostatistics, public health or other related social science field with strong quantitative emphasis.
- 3+ years in a hands-on data analytics management role with experience developing analytical and / or data science methods in a research setting.
- Experience with program design, implementation and evaluation, including process maps, root cause analyses, and conducting key informant interviews and focus groups.
- Experience in program and project management.
- Excellent skills with Stata, SAS, R, SPSS, Python, or similar programming languages.
- Excellent time-management skills and experience working simultaneously on multiple projects with discrete, interdisciplinary teams.
- Experience designing and implementing complex and innovative solutions for project workflow and data management tasks.
- Proficient with REDCap and other web-based survey development and distribution platforms.
- Experience creating and leading training workshops and materials.
- Excellent communication and writing skills, with the ability to provide a writing sample.
- Highly detail oriented, ensuring data quality and accuracy.
