Digital Content Creator (Full-Time Temp Position June - December 2023)

Reporting to the Digital Content Manager, the Digital Content Creator will be laser-focused on telling stories that matter most to digital and social users and doing it better than anyone else.

Ideal candidates will have knowledge of CMS (Content Management Systems) such as WordPress with a solid understanding of web standards, design, and usability.

Excellent writing, editing, troubleshooting, copy editing, and web production skills required. Candidates must have experience writing digital stories, sending breaking push alerts, live streaming, and editing photos, graphics and videos.

Must be comfortable and experienced using various tools to make informed editorial decisions. High standard of quality and attention to detail.

Must be self-motivated, deadline driven, and able to perform well in a fast-paced environment. Ability to take direction, think critically under pressure, and work professionally as part of a cohesive team, and individually, within specific time constraints.

Optimistic attitude, good judgment, and excellent communication skills. A positive and influential newsroom citizen. Friendly, respectful and collaborative.

This role in particular will involve one shift over the weekend.

Qualifications : Degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field preferred. Prior newsroom and digital media experience required.

Three (3) years’ experience developing, editing, and publishing news content on digital and social platforms. Experience in a medium to major broadcast market preferred.

Proficient in content management systems, SEO, photo and video publishing, live streaming, and digital analytical tools.

Excellent writer and storyteller with flawless copy-editing skills. Experience publishing content on digital and social platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
