Network Operations Center Technician III - Strategic
Technicians on the Professional NOC (ProNOC) teams are responsible for providing excellent customer service to Zayo's key customers.
The Professional NOC teams (Strategic, PDN, Spread, and Media) deliver specialized services tailored to meet each customer's individual needs.
Technicians will prioritize working hand in hand with customers to fully resolve issues and work collaboratively with partners throughout Zayo to ensure customers' expectations are met and that our customers' services are reliable.
Principal Accountabilities :
Monitoring of internal and external networks across a multi-vendor environment
Carrying out initial triage diagnosis on faults and proactively escalating issues as required
Prioritizing faults to meet SLAs, including resource management of external contractors
Providing regular updates to internal stakeholders and external customers on the progress of faults
Fault isolation and repair tasks on DWDM, SDH, Dark Fiber, IP, and Ethernet circuits
Responsible for the management of fault receipt, fault identification & logging, support team dispatch, and fault management to resolution
Ensuring service availability and Mean Time To Repair (MTTR) targets are met.
Providing support to the Shift Lead when required
Facilities and key sites monitoring and fault management
Arranging and coordinating access for suppliers with support team members
Providing key metrics and reports as required to senior Operations stakeholders
Support & maintain the company objectives of ISO 9001 / 18001 / 27001 accreditation
7pm- 7am CST, 3-4 days a week (3rd shift)
Key Skills and Experience :
5 - 8 years (minimum) proven NOC experience in the telecommunications industry with a proven record of accomplishment in an operational environment.
Experienced in DWDM, Fiber & Optical equipment
Experience in a multi-vendor environment is essential including Ciena, Cisco, Huawei, Marconi, Juniper, ADVA, Alcatel, Bandwidth Managers, Lambda unite, Nokia, OMC.
Knowledge of OSP practices e.g. basic OTDR analysis and fiber repairs.
Troubleshooting Transport and IP customer trouble tickets on DWDM / SDH and Ethernet networks.
Pragmatic and analytical approach to problem-solving
Confident and able to challenge suppliers and processes.
Ability to manage in & out-sourced suppliers or partners
Comfortable working 24 / 7 shift patterns, including holidays and nights
Excellent communication; written & verbal
Outstanding confidence, initiative, and organizational skills
Highly proficient in Google Workspace or O365
Familiarity with Salesforce CRM is desirable.
Remain flexible and adaptable to any change in business needs or requirements
Proactive mindset & attitude to ensure customer satisfaction is in everything we do.
Base pay range : $19.27 - $26.95 / hour, commensurate with experience.

Data Center Facility Operations Director - Boston, MA

We are looking for an experienced Data Center Facility Operations Director to support multiple data centers. The Director will be responsible for managing the overall quality and service of the operation and maintenance of multiple critical facility infrastructure systems in accordance with company's policies and procedures.
These Data Centers are a 7x24x365 a year operation. The director will work with the data center facility managers in maintaining the relationships with various customers.
The successful candidate will oversee the work performed by in-house data center facility manager to ensure each site is meeting the high and dynamic standards of their internal customers.
The successful candidate will also provide consistent leadership and support through planning, communicating, and managing a team of professionals responsible to deliver data center facility services.
Responsibilities include the delivery of quality and consistent services and support as established by the Corporation while satisfying unique customer requirements, managing issue resolution and ensuring proper performance reporting of key metrics for the region, establishing goals and objectives for the region based on strategic and business plans of the corporation.
Responsibilities :
Performing periodic site walk-throughs in order to ensure Company’s procedures (SOPS and MOPS) and standards are followed.
This includes assisting the Facilities Manager, Technicians and any other contracted vendors
- Identifying any vulnerabilities while overseeing 3rd Party Critical Facilities onsite team
- Communicating the status of the operation process with senior management and onsite customers
- Site acceptance and commissioning of the facility to ensure the site meets the superior and dynamic standards of Company Standards
- Acting as liaison and coordinating efforts between the contracted vendors and the onsite customers.
- Oversee the development of procedures / Method of Procedures (MOPs) for the DC build in addition to approving MOPs for data hall work
- Participating in the interview process for prospective candidates applying to this critical facility
- Auditing installed data center components. This audit will be used to verify the completion of the job scope by the vendor in addition to verifying the design documentation for the build-out and ongoing operations of the data hall space
- Provide strategic / tactical leadership with a background in best practices related to operations for performance and reliability on a variety of state of the art critical systems such as : medium voltage switchgear, diesel generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, chillers, cooling towers, computer room air handlers, fire detection / suppression;
building monitoring systems; etc.
- Supervise the on-site management the facility manager, facility technicians, sub-contractors and vendors, ensuring that all work is performed according to established practices and procedures
- Manage Customer Relationship and act as escalation point of contact for the company at this site
- Manage the establishment of performance benchmarks, conduct analyses and prepare reports on all aspects of the critical facility operations and maintenance
- Work with business leaders to coordinate projects, manage capacity and optimize plant safety, performance, reliability and efficiency
- Review MOPs and SOPs for all work on critical data center facility equipment
- Ensure that a constant state of readiness in support of the mission goal of 99.999% uptime
Qualifications :
- 10-15+ years of data center facility operations and maintenance experience.
- 5 years leadership experience in data center facility operations.
- Budget / P / L responsibility
- Solid Understanding of Critical Electrical and Mechanical / HVAC equipment
- Experience supervising a technical data center operations staff
- Previous experience as a Data Center Facility Manager a must
- Previous experience in the Military / Military veterans in all branches that have experience with Electrical / Mechanical is a huge plus (Navy Nukes- EMN, ETN, MMNs, Seabees, Army - Power Generation, Air Force Power Production, Generator Techs, Maritime, Coast Guard, etc.)
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- Good presentation skills in leading meetings (both conference and in person)
- Superior analytical, planning and problem resolution skills Knowledge of Company Services and operations structure and support operations.

Well-informed of current and emerging trends in advanced analytics, including : statistics, data
analysis, machine learning, data mining, and data management.
Work collectively with management to identify problems and areas for opportunity as well as
cohesively with IT to identify data integrity and availability.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in Marketing, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics preferred, equivalent
experience
- 7+ years of SAS, R, Python, or other related languages.
- IT related Technologies and data integration
- Prior management experience in an analytic based environment.
- Experience with data warehousing and BI toolsets required.
- Experience working in an agile environment and collaborating with the team to solve technical
challenges using rapid and iterative development.
- Superior communication skills with the ability to work directly with business partners.
- Knowledge and experience in the hospitality industry.
Preferred Qualifications :
7+ years of experience working in a hospitality analytics role providing data driven solutions to
hospitality problems (Consumer Behavior, Marketing & Customer Loyalty, Pricing, Managing
Labor & Food Cost)
Knowledge of fundamental marketing concepts such as positioning, segmentation, consumer
behavior, customer response models etc.
- Knowledge of forecasting techniques such as time series, regression and artificial intelligence
- Knowledge of revenue management practices and optimization methods including linear / integer
programming, pricing strategies (variable, dynamic), scheduling algorithms.
