MedStar PatientFinancial Services currently has an opportunity for an experienced PatientAccounts Specialist to join our team! The selected individual will begin their MedStar Patient Accountingcareer in our customer service department (call center environment) respondingto customer inquiries regarding patient accounts and assisting in resolvingissues and concerns.
Associate may be cross trained to cover otherareas within the Patient Financial Services department.
Weare specifically looking for candidates who have experience in medical billing,claim denials, submitting claim appeals, and / or healthcare call center.

MedStar Patient Financial Services operations is responsible forcentralized and standardized revenue cycle processes for all 10 MedStar Healthhospitals and the MedStar National Rehabilitation Network ancillary locations.

Minimum Qualifications
Education
High School Diploma or GED required
Experience
1-2 years Experience in patient accounting, accounts receivable or related healthcare field required or An equivalent combination of experience and college education in accounting, finance or healthcare administration required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Detailed working knowledge and demonstrated proficiency in at least one specific payers application billing and / or collection process.
Requires basic working knowledge of UB04 and Explanation of Benefits (EOB).Requires some knowledge of medical terminology and CPT / IDC-9 coding.
Excellent communication, analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills.Proficient uses of hospital registration and / or billing systems and personal computers as well as Microsoft Excel and Word applications.Ability to type 35 WPM.

The Call Center Operator answers multi-line phone system and accurately and professionally directs and assists callers, schedules appointments and takes accurate and thorough messages for the appropriate provider following office protocols.

Responsibilities :
- 12 / 7 / 365 Operational Support provided by Contact Center Tier 1 support via ticketing, email and to internal and external aerospace customers in a timely manner.
- Provides aircraft on ground (AOG) coverage.
- Process customer requests for assignment to applicable subject matter experts.
- Coordinate with Production Control for AOG parts orders.
- Monitor lines and direct customer inquiries to the appropriate teams / departments.
- Manage, maintain, and prioritize help desk cases effectively to assign second level issues to the proper support team member and departments when appropriate.

- Complete various assignments centered around billing, system maintenance and account auditing.
