Position Information Hr. Position Bus Driver Full Time / Part Time Part Time Job Type On-Call Position Summary Provide transportation services for university employees, students, visitors, and faculty while ensuring transportation services and passenger safety.

Monitors equipment and performs limited maintenance. This is an On-Call position and working hours are variable up to and can occasionally exceed 40 hours in one week. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Drives a university-owned bus, providing safe and efficient transportation to the university community and its visitors.
  • Performs routine vehicle inspection and maintenance including checking the oil, fuel, brakes, lights, windshield wipers, and water and tire pressures.
  • Provides information and other general assistance to the university community and its visitors.
  • Maintains DOT approved logbook hours of work performed; makes timely reports of accidents, incidents, and unusual occurrences.
  • Must comply with Department of Transportation regulations and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
  • Maintain regular attendance. Minimum Job Requirements
  • Education : High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience : Two (2) years paid experience related to duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico driver’s license.
  • CDL required. Preferred Qualifications Special Conditions for Eligibility
  • As a CDL driver, the employee will be required to comply with all provisions of DOT Regulation 49 CFR Parts 40 and 382, including random drug and alcohol testing.
  • Possession of a valid New Mexico Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A or Class B with a Passenger Endorsement is a requirement for this job.
  • Must be willing to respond as needed on an on-call basis.
  • Must be willing to routinely work evening, weekends, holidays and odd hours.
  • Driving may include Overnight trips and out of State trips.
