As a Bartender, this position will be responsible for providing friendly, attentive, and timely service to create an exceptional experience for all guests.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintains a positive attitude; creates an atmosphere of friendliness and fun through flexibility and teamwork.
- Generates a friendly atmosphere by encouraging employees to greet and speak to customers; providing prompt, courteous, and efficient service to customers and sets a good example
- Sets the department standards for customer service, employee relations, cleanliness, sanitation, professional appearance and overall profitability
- Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner, whether the encounter takes place in the employee’s designated department or elsewhere in the store
- Makes an effort to learn customers’ names and to address them by name whenever possible
- Assists customers by : escorting them to the products they’re looking forsecuring products that are out of reachloading or unloading heavy itemsmaking note of and passing along customer suggestions or requestsperforming other tasks in every way possible to enhance the shopping experience
- Answers the telephone promptly and provides friendly, helpful service to customers who call including taking product orders
- Accept guest payment, process credit card charges and make change (if applicable)
- Check identification of customers to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol
- Clean glasses, utensils, and bar equipment
- Present drink menus, make specific recommendations and answer questions regarding beverages
- Stock bar with beer, wine, liquor, and related supplies such as ice, glassware, napkins, or straws
- Serve wine, bottled or draft beer
- Take beverage orders from serving staff or directly from patrons
- Clean bars, work areas, and tables
- Mix ingredients, such as liquor, soda, water, sugar, and bitters, to prepare cocktails and other drinks
- Maintains strict adherence to department and company guidelines related to personal hygiene and dress
- Adheres to company policies and individual store guidelines
- Reports to work when scheduled and on time
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists in other areas of store as needed
- Performs other job related duties and special projects as required
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Worker Characteristics
- Must have the ability to solve practical problems; variety of variables with limited standardization; interpret instructions.
- Ability to do arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages.
- Possess the ability to compose original correspondence; interpret written work instructions; interview job applicants;
follow technical manuals and have increased contact with people.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent and six months to one year of related work experience.
- Must have ability to handle money and operate a point-of-sale system.
Physical Requirements
Must be physically able to exert up to 100 pounds of force (shared team lifting) occasionally; exert up to 50 pounds of force frequently;
and exert up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Visual requirements include vision from less than 20 inches to more than 20 feet with or without correction, depth perception, color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors), and field of vision.
- Must be able to perform the following physical activities : Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, finger dexterity, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
Working Conditions
This is a fast paced food service work environment dealing directly with the public. Possible equipment movement hazards and exposure to cleaning chemicals and solvents.

Draught foam control devices; Electronic beer line maintenance equipment, Refrigerated liquid recirculation systems; Soda dispensers;
cocktail shakers; blenders; Mojito machines; fruit knives; ice chippers, ice crushers, ice flakers and POS terminals.
Financial Responsibility
Responsible for department assets including equipment and merchandise and cash register.
Contacts
Has daily contact with customers, employees, suppliers / vendors, and the general public. Occasional contact with local, federal or state regulatory agencies regarding inspections.

Job Overview
A Bartender is responsible for taking care of all guests, in addition to, preparing and mixing beverages in a friendly, courteous, helpful, timely, and professional manner resulting in a high level of guest satisfaction.
Essential Responsibilities
- Check station before, during, and after shift for proper set up and cleanliness.
- Greet guests in a courteous and friendly manner.
- Ice, mix, garnish and present drinks, according to the standards set forth by the company.
- Practice prudent portion controls, as set by the company.
- Maintain accountability of all beverages served by inputting orders into a register at the Point of Sale system and creating a check for the guest.
Additionally, ensuring a printout stub or copy of the check before issuing any beverages.
- Receive cash, coupons, and credit card from the guest or server, make any change needed, verify validity of charges, record charges, and ensure vouchers are properly executed in order to balance bank.
- Maintain proper and adequate set up of the bar on a daily basis. This includes cleanliness, requisitioning and stocking of all beverages up to par set for the outlet, as well as, paper products (straws), stirrers, condiments, and other products needed.
- Responsible for maintaining inventories up to par. This includes doing a spot check inventory at the beginning and ending of the shift.
- Prepare garnishes for beverages.
- Follow proper closing procedures, lock up and store beverages, condiments and other equipment items, deposit cash drops, and secure bank.
- Responsible for loading / unloading glasses from bar dishwasher, as well as, polishing all glassware.
- Ensure maintenance of equipment by calling for repairs.
- Perform all assigned side work.
- Perform any general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products as assigned, to adhere to health standards.
- Be smooth and quick behind the bar; remain calm and chill at all times, and be nice to everyone.
- Other tasks as assigned by the Restaurant Manager, Restaurant General Manager and the Director of Food and Beverage.
Qualifications
Education :
- High school diploma or GED equivalency required.
- One (1) to five (5) years previous food and beverage serving experience.
- Must obtain Kansas City Liquor License and Food Handlers Card.
Experience :
- Must have good knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of most alcoholic beverages.
- Basic mathematical skills necessary to operate our Point of Sale system, ability to make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops, total all other charges, and understand portion sizes.

QUE-SO here’s what you’ll need :
- Previous experience working as a restaurant bartender
- A current required state alcohol-server license (TABC, TIPS, ABLE, etc.)
- Open to varied work schedules and hours depending on business needs
- Must be able to use to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects up to 40 pounds
