A BARTENDER’S DAY-TO-DAY

  • Serve food, alcohol, and other beverages
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked work station
  • Promote responsible alcohol sales and service and comply with all local regulations
  • Take food and beverage orders from guests and lane servers

WHAT IT TAKES

  • 3 Years of related experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent (Optional)
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and a commitment to great guest service
  • Meet minimum age requirements to sell and serve alcohol as required by our company operating standards and state law

The Appetito / Sage Harvest Bartender will contribute to the success of Appetito / Sage Harvest by engaging and serving customers during culinary classes and private events.

We seek someone with excellent communication skills and a friendly personality to support the Culinary and Events team. The bartender reports to the Appetito / Sage Harvest Manager.

  • Verify identification and age requirements of customers
  • Mix traditional and creative cocktails
  • Process payment from customers
  • Clean glasses and bar utensils
  • Ensure that the bar is wiped down and kept tidy throughout the shift
  • Make suggestions based on customer tastes and preferences
  • Record and balance cash receipts and prepare cash deposits
  • Open and maintain tabs throughout their shift
  • Build a rapport with regular customers to create a positive atmosphere
  • Come to work prepared and energized upon arrival
  • Complete the bar checklist before and after class
  • Stock the bar with necessary produce and other ingredients before the bar opening
  • Greet customers with enthusiasm and a smile when they approach the bar
  • Have a sound understanding of each cocktail, beer, wine, and liquor offered at Appetito / Sage Harvest
  • Familiarity and communication of the Glorioso’s story and background behind Appetito & Sage Harvest
  • Strong communication skills with management and staff
  • Communicate with beverage reps, customers, and Glorioso’s Italian Market beverage department manager
  • Place wine, beer, and spirit orders on time each week
  • Consistently measure cocktail ingredients and wine pours for customers
  • Assist in clearing tables and glasses when customers are finished eating after cooking classes and private events
  • Assist in washing dishes, glassware in particular, during and after cooking classes and private events
  • Aid kitchen assistants and chefs as needed
  • Accurately record time worked

Essential Functions

  • Ability to communicate verbally and work cooperatively with team members and customers.
  • Ability to remain stationary for up to 3 hours at a time.
  • Ability to grab, reach, push, pull, bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch to demonstrate, retrieve and / or replenish merchandise and / or equipment.
  • Ability to work a varied schedule including nights and weekends, as business dictates.
  • Ability to operate a computer, POS system, keyboards, merchandise scanners, and mouse to accomplish work.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.
  • Ability to lift and / or move merchandise and / or equipment weighing up to 35 lbs.
  • Valid Bartender license (preferred or able to obtain immediately).
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Customer service experience.
