BARISTA

Reporting to the Good Things Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following :

Responsibilities

• Provide timely, personalized, friendly and efficient food and beverage service to our discerning guests
• Ensure that overall cleanliness and maintenance of our cafe exceeds expectations
• Contribute to the improvement of the operation by contributing ideas, making suggestions and actively participating in departmental communication meetings
• Actively participate in monthly departmental sales promotions
• Ensure that all beverage product meets Fairmont Hotels & Resort standards
• Ensure that cafe is well stocked and any ’86 items are communicated to Manager on Duty
• Ensure that cafe area is clean and all equipment is functional
• Bring any concerns to the attention of the Manager (related to internal or external guests, food or service quality, operation of the room, physical surrounding or equipment)
• Be Health & Safety conscious and actively involved in maintaining a safe work environment
• Uphold the highest standard of internal and external customer service by demonstrating Fairmont Service Essentials at all times
• Complete side duties in timely manner
• Assist colleagues in daily tasks as required

What You Do

• Deliver the perfect beverage that exceeds customer expectations with your ability to engage, build rapport, listen, and provide friendly, fast service as you go through a tailored order creating approach.
• Make relevant beverage and food recommendations ensuring an engaging experience with the customers that connects them with the right products to meet their needs.
• Ensure that the Cafe is welcoming to all customers by having a stocked bake case and neatly displayed merchandise.
• Take pride in the Cafe and place a priority on ensuring a clean and tidy environment knowing that cleanliness encompasses all aspects of the customer experience.
• Execute all operational standards correctly, in a timely manner and in accordance with the cafe standards, safety and health codes.
• Protect company assets by adhering to all processes and working efficiently to control waste and shrink.
• Recognize and offer to help both customers and employees with urgency and care.
• Work in the Cafe which requires physical activity (i.e., prolonged standing, repetitive bending, lifting, climbing, operating espresso machines), and sales floor when needed.

About the Role Foxtrot is looking for friendly, professional and motivated individuals interested in Barista opportunities at our Dallas locations.

You will offer guests an elevated coffee experience via extensive training, product and beverage knowledge, and superior customer service.

You are knowledgeable about the products we offer, excited to answer guest questions, and can speak knowingly about the Foxtrot brand.

This is a high touch position; a desire to interact with our guests and bring positive energy is a must.We are opening two new stores this Spring and we're looking for awesome, hospitality-focused, community-loving folks- ready to join our team! Come be a part of our Austin expansion!

Responsibilities

• Act as an ambassador for the Foxtrot brand to all customers.
• Maintain excellence in cafe presentation and cleanliness.
• Greet all guests entering the store.
• Prepare and serve coffee and tea beverages that adhere to the company standards and training protocols.
• Complete required training course and earn the Foxtrot Cafe Barista Certification.
• Maintain coffee knowledge on current offerings and be able to articulate that to our guests.
• Educate guests and staff on all coffee and teas carried.
• Garner excitement and solicit answers to guest questions, products, Foxtrot stores, delivery.
• Ensure overall customer satisfaction for primarily in-store guests.
• Operate cash registers to scan merchandise and process sales transactions.
• Other duties across store operations, as assigned.

About You

• Able to work independently.
• Outgoing and personable you enjoy interacting with guests.
• Able to lift up to 40 pounds of boxes up and down stairs.
• Strong communicator.
• Passion for high-quality goods, especially in food and beverage.
• Punctual and reliable.
• Have previous specialty coffee or barista experience.

Tellus Joe is a unique plant-based coffee shop located in the Tarrytown neighborhood of Austin, and a next-door, sister business to The Beer Plant restaurant.

We serve organic coffee, specialty drinks, house-made breakfast tacos, and sandwiches.
